Modern guys have five dating apps, unlimited texting, HD photos, disappearing messages, and notifications from everything except an actual woman. Dad couldn’t send a fire emoji or like her story. There’s something special about meeting a woman who makes you feel wanted. Especially when she tells you that you’re exactly what she’s been looking for, that nobody else will do, and that tonight simply wouldn’t be possible without you. For a man who’s spent years dealing with mixed signals and unanswered texts, that kind of commitment is refreshing. Granted, it becomes slightly concerning when she mentions the importance of a willing participant, insists that everything must happen before midnight, and asks whether anyone knows your current location. But relationships require trust, and you can’t build something meaningful if you’re constantly questioning her intentions. Besides, she said I’m special. I just wish she’d stop referring to me as “the chosen one.”

Imagine asking the boys where we’re landing and Mike goes, “Wherever YOU want. You always decide anyway.” Steve’s gone quiet because nobody noticed his new character skin. Dave says, “Glad you’re having fun,” after I revive someone else first. Now I’m crouched behind a dumpster explaining that knowing another teammate from work doesn’t mean I value our friendship less. We finished 38th, but apparently the real problem was my tone. 😂

I’m not worried about the woman who looks like she escaped from a haunted psychiatric hospital. At least she’s being upfront about the red flags. I’m worried about the one who looks completely harmless but can make an 84-piece bag of Halloween candy disappear faster than evidence at a crime scene. You buy $75 worth of candy for trick-or-treaters, come home from work, and find 37 empty wrappers, an orange bucket, and a woman claiming she “only had like two.” Ma’am, we’ve got forensic accountants investigating Enron with less missing inventory than this. And somehow, when the doorbell rings, I’m the bad guy for telling a six-year-old we’re out of Snickers.
