Gabby and her husband are thinking about pulling money from their emergency fund to buy a gun after a stranger banged on their door at 11 p.m. She called in to The Ramsey Show for advice on whether that’s what the fund is for.

That sounds like an emergency, it also sounds like you need to contact an attorney and local news and tell them that your Country Police Department is doing a horrendous job at responding to their civilian emergency calls, this also could have been a terrible dispatcher as well, you never know. You need an alarm, a few camera, better locks and yes a gun.

Not everyone has the ability to just pick up and move. That's not a very realistic answer. Asking "what are you going to do, shoot?" - yes, absolutely. If my family is being threatened in our own home, yes. What's the alternative? Call the police and hope they get there before some lunatic kills your family? I love Dave Ramsey but he's off on this one.

1k peace of mind. Used M&P sheild plus for under 400. Not only have it at the house but a great edc. Add a used Mossberg 500 for under 300. Spend 300 on ammo at the range.

The cops clearly stated they weren’t coming. When seconds count police are minutes away. Surprised Dave missed that.
