Every moment of ordinary life is an opportunity for initiation.
For example:
When someone rejects you, can you recognize the Creator within that person?
When you experience emotional pain, can you recognize the Creator within the experience?
When you express your authentic nature despite external judgment, can you recognize the Creator expressing itself through you?
When you love someone without attempting to control their choices, can you recognize the Creator in both yourself and the other?
In Ra's philosophy, the Creator isn't something outside yourself that you're trying to reach.
You are the Creator experiencing itself through the temporary perspective of an individual being.
This changes the entire meaning of spiritual seeking.

Notice the language: abandoning of self. Ra isn't describing the destruction of personality or individuality. Rather, this is the surrender of the separate ego's insistence on controlling experience. In this interpretation, the individual stops approaching spiritual development primarily through questions such as: "What can I obtain?" "How can I make reality conform to my desires?" "How can I become spiritually powerful?" And begins approaching existence through a different orientation: "How can I become a clearer expression of the Infinite Creator?" That is a very different kind of spiritual aspiration. It is not about acquiring power. It is about removing the distortions that prevent consciousness from recognizing its own divine nature.
