📵 Sick of election calls and texts? Here's how to make next cycle quieter:
1️⃣ Your phone number on your voter registration is OPTIONAL in Ohio. Campaigns and PACs buy the public voter file, and your number comes with it. Update your registration and leave the phone field blank. Don't put a fake number; just leave it empty.
2️⃣ Reply STOP to every political text. They're legally required to honor it.
3️⃣ When a campaign calls, ask them to put you on THEIR do-not-call list. The national Do Not Call list doesn't cover political calls.
4️⃣ Don't hand your number out at checkout, on loyalty cards, petitions or online sign-ups. Data brokers sell those lists too.
5️⃣ Turn on "Silence Unknown Callers" (iPhone) or spam call filtering (Android).
Do it now, and the fresh lists they pull before the next election won't have you on them. 🙌
