Over the past couple of years, I’ve really struggled with covering my hair. Between postpartum, health issues, and feeling overstimulated by just about everything, having something on my head all day has felt harder than I ever expected it to. I love how I feel in a sheitel, but I’ve never really felt beautiful in a tichel. And lately I’ve been wondering if having more options - more ways to feel like myself while covering my hair - might make a difference. So this month, I’m trying something new. No Sheitel November. A month of giving tichels a real chance and hopefully finding a few more ways to feel beautiful while doing this mitzvah. Day 1 🤍 #modestfashion #ootd #jewishmother #tichel
You win some, you lose some... Jamie West, who was running for a seat on County Council District 4 in Indiana, recently became a meme when a local news interview she did during her campaign went viral. West said she would 'fire all republicans,' if she were in charge, said that Democrats 'have guns too,' and said that there is a difference between 'republicans' and 'MAGA.' The video spread rapidly, with many people admiring her blunt, no-holds-barred approach. She later admitted on Pierce Morgan's show that she had 'three beers' before the interview, but insists she wasn't intoxicated. The viral fame wasn't enough to help her campaign, however, as she lost her election in Fayette County Tuesday night. Her Republican opponent won the seat with 1,203 votes; West received just 297 votes.
I would get texts from Brooks about what streets they ended up on a couple times during the race and then the only thing that got me through every mile was counting down blocks to where I knew I’d see them. This race would have been impossible without the support from my fam and friends and even all of you who cheered me on virtually and tracked me! Thank you 😭🤍 #firstmarathon #marathon #nycmarathon #momswhorun
