The North Wind Polo is finally here ♡I designed this one for knitters who love timeless pieces with a modern, effortless feel. This pattern is all about versatility and wearability. I also wanted to create a garment that works across seasons: something you can reach for again and again, whether it’s a light summer tee or a cozy winter layer. The pattern includes two versions: a long-sleeved pullover and a short-sleeved t-shirt. Both are worked seamlessly from the top down, so you can try it on as you go and adjust the length and fit to suit your style. You don’t even have to decide which version you want to knit until you reach the sleeves!I designed this piece to move easily between wardrobes and climates: knit it in soft wool blends for colder days, or choose lighter fibers like cotton, silk, or linen for a breathable summer version. It’s minimal, polished and made to last beyond trends.Wear it on its own, layered over a shirt, or styled under a jacket, the North Wind Polo is meant to become a true staple in your handmade wardrobe.✨ To celebrate the release, enjoy 20% off for the next 48 hours on Ravelry and sarinordlund.com (no code needed).I can’t wait to see your versions ♡ #NorthWindPolo #knitweardesign #knittingpattern #handmadewardrobe by @sari_n_

Hi, I’m Sari — the knitwear designer, yarn enthusiast, and serial idea generator behind this corner of the internet. 👋✨A little about me: 🧶 I design sweaters and accessories with a soft spot for lace, cables, texture, and anything that makes you say, “that looks complicated” (but is secretly very doable). 📚 I’m the author of “Softly” and “Summer Knits” 🌍 My suitcase is often more than half-filled with yarn, and most of my favorite memories are tied to the projects I’ve cast on in cities I love. The other half of my suitcase is hand-knitted sweaters. 💛 Knitting started as a hobby in my twenties and slowly became my creative outlet, my community, my career (and honestly, a big part of how I identify myself.) 🧵 I taught myself to knit and read at the same time, and now I can’t imagine doing one without the other. 🧠 My knitting superpowers: strong visualization skills + photographic memory, which makes working with charts feel like second nature. ☕ Most of my project photos include coffee (unintentionally, but also very intentionally). 🐈 I share my space with Luna, Marlon, and our dog Eetu, who all make cameo appearances in my cozy chaos.A few of my quirks: 🧶 There is no such thing as “too many” WIPs — only WIPs with different vibes. 🧵 Yarn shops activate a sixth sense in me: suddenly I know exactly what project wants to exist. 📺 I cannot watch a movie without pausing to analyze a character’s knitwear. I will always notice the sweater. When I’m not designing, I’m teaching workshops, filming videos, dreaming up new patterns, or getting overly excited about a colorway I absolutely do not need but will definitely buy anyway. If you’re new here, welcome! I hope this space inspires you, teaches you something new, and gives you the nudge to cast on that project you’ve been thinking about. ✨ Please say hi and if you want you can also introduce yourself in the comments below 👇🏼 My knitting patterns are available on @hi.ravelry and Sarinordlund.com by @sari_n_

MIDSUMMER COUNTDOWN: NORTH WIND POLOThis one has been one of my most used knitted tees this spring, and now I have it in two colors! We are affectionally calling the dark-brown-and-white marled version "the Oreo tee" at the studio, because it reminds Liisa and me of cookies and cream 😋 It's such a fitting nickname for this delicious design 😉The North Wind Polo knitting pattern comes with instructions for both short and long sleeves so this really is the kind of design that takes you from season and season. Collared pullovers have been trending a lot this year and I think they are here to stay. I'm planning to knit another tee this summer and have already a bright lipstick red yarn picked for it and waiting for me at home, but I would also love to make one with stripes, maybe for the fall! Here's a little tutorial video on how to knit the faux cable 💭The faux cable is used here in the Daydreamer Skirt, but you can also see my Cloud Dancer Camisole (lilac) and the Daydreamer Tee (brown, pattern coming in July!) in the background 🤍💜🤎Have you knitted with faux cables? They are such a nice way to add a little something to the texture! by @sari_n_

We are so excited to Show Your Colors! 🌈Liisa here🌸 I thought it would be fun and inspirational to share some of your Show Your Colors Tees. Aren't these all so beautiful? Sari has mentioned time and time again how rewarding it is to see people knitting her patterns and how inspiring it is. And now being a part of this KAL, I really get it. I just love the knitting community and the creativity here 🥰All of the pictures were posted with the #SYCKAL for the Show Your Colors KAL. MIDSUMMER COUNTDOWN 7: ANTOINETTE TOP Hi, it’s Liisa here because... It’s my birthday! ✨🥳 We thought it would be fun for me to choose today’s Midsummer Countdown pattern for the special occasion. I chose the Antoinette Camisole since it is one of my favorite and most worn knits I’ve ever made. The classic silhouette is beautiful but then the small bows add a playful, feminine detail that I absolutely love! 🎀I love the Antoinette top since it's so versatile! Wear the bows on front for a fun detail or choose the clean, classic and elegant side, when you don’t feel like showing off the bows. Also, look how well the top transitions from day to night! I wore the black Antoinette (Sari let me borrow hers) for my birthday dinner with black silk pants and it was just so elegant and lovely. The Antoinette Top pattern is available on Ravelry and at sarinordlund.com with a 25 % off until tomorrow (end of the day Helsinki time) - no code needed! Happy Sunday everyone! 🤍 by @sari_n_

MIDSUMMER COUNTDOWN: VELA TEE ✨ Today's countdown pattern is the Vela tee that I designed for the @myak_fibers Venice retreat in April. It is a top-down raglan tee with an engaging cable and lace pattern. I have been wearing my Vela tee a lot: it's fingering weight so very light and wearable and I think this style is also very easy to style! I have been wearing my Vela with skirts and pants, pretty much everything ranging from jeans to lightweight linen culottes. If you want to knit one too, the pattern is now -25%, but hurry, the discount ends tomorrow (the end of the day, Helsinki time). No code needed! The pattern is available on Ravelry and sarinordlund.comAnd if you want to see what I am knitting at the moment, these photos give you a little sneak peek 👀 by @sari_n_

MIDSUMMER COUNTDOWN 4: SALTWIND TEE 🌊The Saltwind Tee started with the question - how to make a unicolor person (like me) want to knit (and love!) stripes? The fit needs to be perfect so that the stripes can take the center stage. At the same time, it needs to be flattering to wear. I wanted a seamless construction so that you don’t have to think about matching the stripes on the body and the sleeves. The sleeves are knitted simultaneously with the body so that you are actually continuing the stripe all the way while avoiding the angled stripe look some constructions have. I started with easy, thicker colorblock stripes for the Saltwind tee, but have since been adding all kinds of stripes (cue the Show Your Colors Tee!) 😉The Saltwind Tee pattern is available on Ravelry and at sarinordlund.com with a 25 % off until tomorrow (end of the day Helsinki time) - no code needed! 🤍#SaltwindTee by @sari_n_

MIDSUMMER COUNTDOWN 3: CLOUD DANCER CAMISOLE ☁️🪻What I love the most about summer knitting are the playful, feminine, flowy textures and fits. Winter knits are often cozy, oversized and quite boxy. Therefore in the summer I crave lightness, colors and different silhouettes. I first experimented with a peplum hem last year in the Summer Knits book with the Juturna camisole, which turned out to be my favorite design to wear from the book. Peplum hems are still trending which inspired me to design another peplum for this summer, but this time with lace detailing. While the lace looks intricate, it is surprisingly easy to knit (also, it only repeats every 4 rows for the whole hem!).The Cloud Dancer Camisole pattern is available on Ravelry and at sarinordlund.com with a 25 % off until tomorrow (end of the day Helsinki time) - no code needed! ✨What was your favorite knit to wear last summer? 🌤️#CloudDancerCamisole by @sari_n_
