Needle versus Cannula ⁉️⁉️
Here a few anatomical sites where I use needle vs cannula.
Cannula is my preferred method of injecting but there is definitely a place for straight needle as I typically take a hybrid approach when treating my patient’s.

What does 1ml of filler really look like?
The number one concern my patients have when it comes to injectables is appearing too "done." Many are nervous to try injectables for fear of looking overfilled...the dreaded pillow face or trout pout. The truth is, if placed judiciously, you actually need A LOT of filler to look over done.
The most commonly used fillers are hyaluronic acid (HA) based. A 1 mL syringe of HA filler is equivalent to about 1/5 of a teaspoon. This is quite a small amount of product when you consider the entire face. While HA is highly hydrophilic, meaning it binds and absorbs water very effectively, 1/5 of a teaspoon of product will add only minimal volume, especially over larger areas. Product selection is also important. The density and rigidity of fillers (their G prime) varies, with some being much firmer than others, meaning less product can potentially go a longer way.
1 mL of filler may be more than enough to treat target areas such as the tear troughs or lips, but when it comes to global rejuvenation over the entire face, larger quantities are typically needed and will still yield very natural results. A good rule of thumb for what might be required is a syringe per decade, for example 4 syringes in your 40s, 5 syringes in your 50s. The goal of a good filler treatment is to restore volume where volume has been lost and to refine contours, all without being able to pinpoint exactly what has been done. Following an initial treatment with filler, smaller amounts of product may be required annually to maintain results. It's important not to try and solve all ageing "issues" with filler, as this is where trouble may begin...there is a limit to what fillers can and should do. But when used correctly, fillers can be a great option in a dermatologist's toolkit.

Cannula versus Needle 💉
A cannula is a thin tube like needle with a blunt tip that is usually longer than a needle. Because it can not pierce the skin, a needle is used initially to create a puncture hole in the skin that the cannula can then guide through.
Benefits of a cannula:
1. Because a cannula is longer, it can reach a larger area and can be used to treat several areas with one insertion point.
2. The blunt tip makes it less likely to pierce blood vessels, and therefore less likely to bruise or inadvertently inject filler into a blood vessel.
3. Cannulas follow a plane to allow smooth delivery of filler.
Benefits of needles 💉
1. Needles deliver product exactly where injected.
2. There can be better projection of filler placed and therefore elevation or lift
3. Excellent for precise work.
A skilled injector will use the option that will give beautiful results safety and effectively. I like using both 😊

DUH TAKUT DOK DISUNTIK PAKAI KANULA, JARUMNYA PANJANG BANGET! 😵💫
Yakin kamu ga mau diinjeksi dengan kanula? ☺️
