We are delighted to be welcoming Christopher Moore to the Castleacre-Historic Houses of Ireland Heritage Awards judging panel! Christopher is an architectural historian, conservationist, paint expert and lecturer with a passionate love of Ireland’s heritage and its buildings. Here he talks about one of the key criteria’s of the heritage award- innovation. The awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at the Merrion Hotel.

Return to the medieval times with me 🌿 Last week I paid Castle Acre Priory a visit and my oh my was it a dream 💭 📖 Castle Acre Priory was founded in 1089 by William de Warenne, the 2nd Earl of Surrey, and his wife, Gundreda. It was established as a house of the Cluniac order, a Benedictine monastic reform movement. 🏰 Today, Castle Acre Priory stands as picturesque ruins, with the most significant surviving structure being the Cluniac church. What to do with Linda 👀 I bought Linda after feeling bad about any damage to Lewis off-roading — a solid engine and chassis, and not much else. I’ve got some maintenance to do — but not sure longer term what to make her into.
