If you had to choose 5 (maybe 6) Artists that started this movement that we now call Techno who would you choose? It’s a tough one whittling it down to this but I’m after the main boys that were there from the start, experimenting with machines, before anyone even knew what electronic music was… The founding fathers of Techno Music! Who would you choose? The Main Pioneers That Created The Techno Sound 🦋 Juan Atkins • Model 500 🦋 🪲 Derrick May • Rhythim Is Rhythim 🪲 🐞 Kevin Saunderson • E-Dancer 🐞 🐝 Mike Banks • UR 🐝 🐌 Jeff Mills • Mills Art🐌 ✨Richard Davis • Cybotron✨ These are just a few of the pioneers of this amazing movement. Cybotron - “Clear” (live). Performed here by AUX88, revisiting one of the defining records of early electro. Released in 1983, “Clear” became a foundation for electro and early Detroit techno - merging funk, machine rhythm and futurism. Decades on, it still sounds like it hasn’t caught up with us yet. #Cybotron #Aux88 @aux88_official

Detroit built the future before the world caught up. Techno wasn’t just machines — it was soul, rhythm, and rebellion. Born from Black brilliance, the Motor City turned factories into frequencies, and struggle into sound. ⚙️ From underground basements to global stages — Techno is Detroit. Techno is Black. 🖤 #DetroitTechno #Afrofuturism #afrofuturistic #detroit313 #juanatkins #DetroitTechno #TechnoIsBlack #MotorCitySoul #UndergroundRhythm #BlackFuturism #Detroit313 #ElectronicHeritage #DeepHouseVibes #TechnoHistory #cyborg #DetroitSound #NoVocalsJustSoul #cybotron #cybotronclear #aiworld #blackaiartcommunity

So last week a bunch of friends / techno-nerds had the time of our lives creating the visuals for a Glastonbury show for Cybotron. I made a little video about how it all went down. For each day in December, my partner Megan suggested I create an advent calendar-style series featuring one of my favorite albums to share on Instagram. She came up with this idea after reading some music reviews of mine in Scum Magazine. I thought introducing you all to some new music was a fantastic idea, so I’ve curated a list of 31 albums to feature every day this month. For Day 1, I chose Enter Cybotron, released in 1983 by the iconic Detroit Techno group Cybotron. This album is often credited as one of the first to shape the techno genre and pave the way for a new sound. #cybotron #entercybotron #31dayofradrecords2024

Repost from @keith.khopewell • It's arrived! The legend that is @myka9 from Freestyle Fellowship has published a book full of transcribed lyrics, photos from back in the day, plus stories and tales of old battles. A massive influence to so many contemporaries of this movement. @juan.cybotron.atkins #myka9 #freestylefellowship #mykaleidoscope #cybotron #r-9 #realfreestyling #realhiphop

What’s your ultimate techno track? 👀 It’s #AmsterdamDanceEvent , so for the occasion I pulled two records that helped start it all: 🎛️ “Alleys of Your Mind” by Cybotron (1981) 🎛️ “Sharevari” by A Number of Names (1981) There’s always debate about which came first — but either way, both are absolute milestones in electronic music. Raw, futuristic, and way ahead of their time. And from #detroit If you know, you know. And if you don’t — time to get educated 🌀 Drop your all-time favorite techno track in the comments ⬇️ Let’s celebrate #ade with a nod to electronic music history. #GrooveMood #ADE2025 #AmsterdamDanceEvent #TechnoOrigins #ElectronicMusicHistory #Cybotron #Sharevari #DetroitTechno #ElectroFunk #AnalogSynths #ElectronicPioneers #CrateDigging #NowSpinning #VinylCulture #RecordPull #VinylVibes #TurntableSession #ElectronicClassics #ElectroRoots #HistoricBeats
