October is one of our favourite times to be out in the field, with the countryside beginning to change and the first signs of the rut starting to appear. It sees us continuing our selective male cull, with a particular focus on fallow prickets and red spikers. These are young male deer, typically in their second year, and their selective removal forms an important part of managing a healthy, balanced deer population. With the rut approaching, we’re beginning to notice changes in behaviour as the bucks become increasingly active and establish their territories. It’s a fascinating time to observe deer, and another reminder of how closely our work follows the natural rhythms of the seasons. Responsible deer management is about understanding these seasonal changes, working with the land and making considered decisions that support healthy herds and sustainable populations for years to come. #FallowDeer #DeerManagement #DeerStalking #WildVenison #SustainableFood

Už jste někdy viděli rochajícího daňka? Nebo alespoň slyšeli? Dančí říje pomalu končí, ale tenhle "koncert" mi bude znít v uších ještě dlouho 🔥🦌 . EN: The fallow deer rut is slowly coming to an end, but this “concert” will ring in my ears for a long time! Have you ever heard them? 🔥 . #wildlife #fallowdeer #czech #priroda #wildlifephotography

A deer I've been taking pictures of for a few years now, but this year is definitely his biggest! He looks to be in good condition too. I'll try to get some proper pictures of him and bring my camera next time. #deer #damhert #damhertenbronst #deerrut #damhirsch #deerseason #fallowrut #fallowdeer #gewei #geweien #antlers #antler #amsterdamsewaterleidingduinen

🦌🔥 The sound of the rut, just a few steps away… A deep roar echoes through the forest as this fallow deer buck makes his presence known during the rut. And then, he walks right past me, so close that you can truly feel the power and intensity of this incredible animal. 🤎 Experiencing the rut is already something special, but having a mature buck walk this close while bellowing is a whole different level. These are the moments that make every hour spent in the field worthwhile. 🌿📸 Wildlife photography isn't just about capturing a picture. It's about being there when nature puts on a show. Would you love to experience this yourself? 👀 #fallowdeer #deerrut #wildlifephotography #naturelovers #wildlifeencounters

🇬🇧 The fallow deer rut in Březka is in full swing! 🌟 Filming this buck groaning among the trees without his beloved ladies spotting me was quite a challenge. He didn't stop all afternoon, circling the sleeping does and singing them his love song. But just before sunset, they wandered off, unimpressed by his persistent efforts, and took with them my last hope that something would happen outside the shade of the trees. #fallowdeer #deerrut #wildlifephotography #ceskapriroda #danek
