Our Gingerbread house 2025✨ Our family project when its Christmas time - this year with even more sparkling lights and decorated details. Helene @heleneog who is studying in Bergen, travelled home to help us decorate the gingerbread house, she is the very best decorator! We hope you like it as mutch as we enjoyed making it ❤️ ❤️ Today we also share our 10 best tips to succeed with your gingerbread house ✨ 1. Draw the parts on cardboard, cut them out and build a cardboard house to check if you have all the parts right. 2. Do the last part of the rolling directly on the baking paper to avoid the parts getting damaged when moved. 3. After baking the windows can be trimmed at the edges with a sharp knife while they still are warm and soft. 4. Let all the parts dry and harden for at least a day or two before you build the house. 5. Remember to make a hole in the back wall if you want lights in the house. A small string light is perfect. 6. Decorate all the parts before you put them together. 7. We use a glue gun when building the house. 8. Make or buy ready-made gingerbread dough, 4-5kg. 9. Gelatin sheets make perfect windows 10. «Royal icing» is perfect for decorating the house. Good luck ❤️

Do you make a gingerbread house? I feel I’ve totally been surprised by it being November already!!! My normal schedule is to start baking the gingerbread house or castle 1st of December. It’s my favourite Christmas crazy!!! Last year I gave away the gingerbread castle to the local nursing home, like I always do, and didn’t make a house for us. Gingerbread House 🎄 Ingredients For the cookies 360g all purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp ground ginger 1 tsp of Christmas mix spice @decoracondolcezza 1/4 tsp salt 85g butter of choice 90g brown sugar 60g caster sugar 170g molasses Sift your dry ingredients together, set aside.In a stand mixer, whisk together butter. sugar, and molasses together. Add the dry ingredients. Mix on medium/low until a smooth ball starts to form, do not over mix. Add more flour if needed. Wrap the dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. 
 Roll out dough onto parchment paper or a baking mat to 1/4” thick. Try to make the dough as even in thickness as possible. Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour.
 Preheat oven to 175c. Cut out the cookies using @ cookie cutter set. Transfer to parchment-covered baking sheets. Bake for 15 minutes or until edges are slightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let fully cool before moving. Decorate cookie pieces with royal icing. Let dry completely. Use stiff icing to attach the gingerbread house together piece by piece. I have been so busy making it, that all other Christmas preparations are all neglected unfortunately. Still.. since some of you also wanted a repetition of last year’s house, this will have to do for now. You can find reels and postings on how I make them if you look in saved highlights, or just go back in time through my posts. And my style for the house: I want it to be a bit crooked, and as if it was in a Nordic fairytale …but still looking homemade. I want for both kids, and kids inside a grownup , to stretch their imagination and picture themselves staying in this house. To feel welcome and warm… and here it’s possible to have the most magical Christmas ever… AND it sort of has to look a little bit like the house I made with the kids, and have similarities to all the other houses I’ve made. Cause Christmas is about tradition and about recognising the magic you used to believe in as a child.
