“thank you dream girl” Further explorations in #hitem “Hit Em” is a genre characterized by adherence to rhythmic parameters laid out to musician Drew Daniels in a dream. In this dream, he was at a rave and the titular dream girl described the genre as being in the wonky groove of 5/4 time, at a blistering 212 BPM, with “super crunched out” sounds. So, I along with others have sought to recreate that dream genre, and here I have done so (almost) entirely on the M8 tracker (added crunch in Ableton Live). Please enjoy.

from dream to real life. @xmatmosx made a tweet about hit em and this is my take on it - got to play it at the Fox Theater at Oakland, the biggest venue I've played so far. There are rules, but also no rules - you only have your own voice! "You Were the Sign" is out everywhere via @tabula.rasa.records "Thank You Dream Girl" compilation 🌤️ #hitem
