There’s something so special about starting the weekend with a Shabbat dinner shared with wonderful people. Last night, Mom and I were welcomed into the home of an extraordinary family. Our hostess is a mother of 10, a grandmother, endlessly interesting, and one of those people who makes everyone around her feel at home. The conversation, the laughter, the traditions, and the sense of community filled our hearts. This morning, we’re cozy in bed talking about it before heading to synagogue, one of our favorite parts of the weekend. We especially love listening to our rabbi’s sermon. Every week, he brings people together in a way that leaves us feeling inspired, connected, and grateful. Mom turns 103 later this month, and we’re so touched that one of her birthday celebrations will be with this community that has embraced her with such warmth.
