🏆Two legends of Kettlebell Sport, side by side. ⬅️On the left: Aleksandr Khvostov, performing snatch with the elite men’s kettlebell – 32kg. ➡️On the right: Ksenia Dedyukhina, a true icon, executing the same lift with the elite women’s weight – 24kg. 🏋🏻‍♂️Both come from very similar schools of kettlebell lifting, and you can clearly see the technical foundations they share. But look closely—despite lifting at the exact same pace, each athlete brings unique details to their movement. 💡These small variations come from individual traits: physical capacity, skill level, movement background, even body proportions. A good example is how each one grips the handle during the drop phase—subtle, but different. 🤔Watch carefully. What differences can you spot? What do you learn from observing two masters at work? 💬Let’s talk technique in the comments. #kettlebell #kettlebellsport #kettlebelllifting #girevoy
2x30 kg long cycle - 10 x one minute on / off - 62 total reps - bodyweight 75 kg Really good session, getting easier and easier as my clean technique gets better. I'm starting to really love long cycle, but I'll never regret having spent the first 3 years of my kettlebell lifting journey on biathlon. Having that base and knowing I can do 10 minutes of jerk and snatch anytime. Also a good opportunity to soft launch my new GPP program: designed to get you strong as an ox with a gigantic aerobic base. It's built around the same methods I used to build my strength, including a triple bodyweight conventional deadlift. Without a good base of general physical preparation, your ceiling in any athletic endeavor is severely limited. Un-limit yourself and get strong and conditioned. Link in bio 🫡

5am Lift💪 LBKC offers a 5am class on Friday mornings! It’s one of our smaller classes but the students who do attend get more bang for their buck. Both coaches Eric & Stephen are on hand to help with any nuances that need to be addressed💯 As we like to say “NO question is too small or too stupid” this is kettlebell lifting and small details can mean a lot often unlocking the inner workings of intricate techniques. Two important fails. As a general rule, I try to not have any fails in my lifting sessions. My goal is to train my brain and body to follow through with lifts to completion. However… that’s not always possible. Sometimes I don’t have that “walking around strength” to push me through a PR attempt. Both of these lifts were my first attempts ever for their weight. With kettlebell lifting it is important to remember that it’s not just the weight of the bell but the size as well. With a heavy kettlebell Bent Press, a larger bell will jut out from your forearm further and completely mess with your muscle memory to point where it feels like a different lift all together. For a heavy goblet squat, especially past 200lbs, the weight will put a great deal of compression on your ribcage so that the challenge is not only moving the weight, but not being able to get a full breath in as well. Keep on pushing. How do we know our limits if we don’t? #kettlebell #bentpress #squats #strength #mobility
If you are a Personal Trainer who is struggling or just starting out, then this could be a great video to listen to, because I explain how I built a course to help trainers get better at their business and fight against the environment that is set up by clubs and the Fitness Education companies, to use Trainers as a profit centre. This is the link to the course that goes with it, where you can learn, business, marketing, kettlebell lifting safety, pad work, punching, kicking, elbows, knees, combinations and programme design that will help you sell and keep clients. https://www.fasterfunction.com/course/essentials-pt-success
#Etruskullpture #kettlebell #kettlebelltraining #strength #allenamento funzionale

After 30-plus years of coaching kettlebell lifting - this is what it always comes down to. Three basics. Not five. Not ten. Three. Number one - your ability to perform correct technique on any particular single kettlebell lift. Not good enough technique. Correct technique. Number two - your confidence in your ability to perform that technique. Confidence matters because hesitation shows up in your movement. And hesitation under load creates problems. Number three - your ability to maintain both your technique and your confidence in the face of fatigue. Because fatigue is where everything falls apart for most guys. The set starts clean. The first few reps look good. Then fatigue creeps in - and suddenly the technique you were confident about starts to slip. That's the moment most guys ignore. They push through because stopping feels like weakness. But pushing through degraded technique under fatigue isn't toughness. It's just practicing the wrong pattern with more effort behind it. If you find yourself mid-session needing to switch from no rest between sides to resting between sides - that's okay. Just make a note in your training journal of where the break happened. And make it your goal to push that break point further out over time. That's measurable progress. That's what getting better actually looks like. 📕 Save these 3 basics so you have a clear filter for every single kettlebell session 📩 Share it with someone who trains hard but never tracks where their technique starts to break down 💬 Comment "BIG 6" if you want to check out the single kettlebell technique series that builds the foundation these 3 basics depend on
In 2011, @stevecotter_ikff was the first person who properly taught me how to use a kettlebell—after several years of abusing them as a CrossFitter. From there, I attended Steve’s seminars and workshops every time he came to the UK. In 2016, I moved to San Diego, and Steve became a friend. Dog walks. Indian club sessions. Talking shop and exchanging ideas. Steve died suddenly and unexpectedly this time last year. He was a world-class teacher. His ability to break down complex techniques into bite-sized, teachable pieces—accessible even to the most uncoordinated student—was only matched by his humility. Steve was one of the original RKC (hardstyle) instructors before changing lanes into the world of Girevoy Sport kettlebell lifting. He wasn’t just one of the greatest kettlebell technicians I’ve ever known—he was an exceptional athlete. Famous for pistol jump squats onto tables. And capable of full-depth bodyweight squats at 30 reps per minute for five straight minutes. I know this because I tried to keep up once. I lasted three. This post is in loving memory of Steve, and shows just a handful of the many drills he taught me—drills I still use today to help clients learn proper hand insertion during the snatch. Drills featured: • Alternating toss • Alternating clockface insertion • Unilateral clockface insertion • Alternating snatches • Side snatches Strength and honor. #stevecotter #rkc #strongfirst #kettlebellsnatch #kettlebellworkout
