Not CGI, just pure kinetic magic🎡 💫@anthony.howe.art’s kinetic installation transforms motion into meditation. Can watch this for hours! #kinetic #kineticsculpture #kineticart #anthonyhowe
𝐀 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬. Two windshield wipers stroke across gray imitation fur—sometimes with, sometimes against the grain. A movement between tenderness and mechanics, control and resistance. Our kinetic sound object CARESS was exhibited at Art Karlsruhe in 2018—where Peter Weibel acquired it for the collection of ZKM | Center for Art and Media. Since then, it has been part of this renowned institution. #PfeiferKreutzer #ZKM #PeterWeibel #ArtKarlsruhe #MediaArt #KineticArt
ai is everywhere. then there’s this. ✨ Always in awe of Tim Lewis’ (@timlewis.info) kinetic sculptures - they’re full of magic and wonder. It’s always a joy to be reunited with his automata. 🦌 #kinetic #kineticart #automata #londonart
CAN A MACHINE HAVE EMOTIONS? ⚙️❤️ Jakob Grosse-Ophoff @ja.ko.mo creates kinetic sculptures that make simple mechanical movements feel surprisingly human. Trained as a mechanical engineer, the German artist combines engineering with contemporary art — using motors, gears, wood and steel to build machines that interact, struggle, repeat, connect and sometimes seem almost… alive. His works have been exhibited internationally, turning mechanics into a language for exploring human behavior, relationships and emotion. No faces. No words. Just movement — yet somehow we understand exactly what they’re feeling. Maybe the most human thing about these machines is what we see in them. What emotion do you see? 👀 ❤️ Like this post if Jakob’s work made you look twice! 🌍 Welcome to WEUNIC — a global creative community. ✦ Discover talent ✦ Build connections ✦ Create opportunities #JakobGrosseOphoff #KineticArt #MechanicalArt #ContemporaryArt #WEUNIC
Strandbeests are a series of kinetic sculptures created by Dutch artist @TheoJansen_Official. These sculptures are designed to move and function without the use of any electronic or mechanical components. Instead, they utilize the power of wind and the kinetic energy from their own movements to walk across beaches and other flat surfaces. Jansen began designing the Strandbeests in the early 1990s and has continued to refine and develop the concept over the years. The sculptures are made from PVC tubing, zip ties, string and other lightweight materials. They feature a complex system of joints and linkages that enable them to walk forward and turn in response to changes in wind direction. The Strandbeests have become increasingly popular in recent years and have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. Jansen has also created a number of DIY kits and instructional videos to help others build their own Strandbeests. He sees them as a way to explore the relationship between art, engineering, and nature, and as a potential solution to environmental challenges such as rising sea levels. #architectanddesign • #art #artist #artwork #kinetic #sculpture #kineticart #structure #design
JA.KO.MO @ja.ko.mo “Gravity”, 2026. A single gesture becomes the core of the system. The hand, carved with precision, holds a quiet tension that activates the mechanism, translating intention into movement. Between control and release, the body extends beyond itself, turning a minimal action into a subtle choreography of weight and balance. “Round Table” is a work of art that touches on the concepts of kinetic art and technological experimentation, representing a group of 18 headless mechanical figures made of straw and balancing a black table on their backs. The disc, with a diameter of 4.5 metres, is in continuous motion, made to sway by the figures balancing the tilt through their own movements. The aim of the 18 figures is actually to carry towards themselves a sphere, ‘head’ as the artist calls it, resting, free to roll, on the board, without ever reaching a destination. A handful of pebbles. A field of nails. A surprisingly beautiful symphony. 🎶 Designed by artist Ned Kahn, this mesmerizing installation transforms the simple act of falling stones into an ever-changing musical composition. As pebbles weave their way through a dense array of metal pins, each impact generates unique rhythms and tones shaped by gravity, chance, and motion. A reminder that sound, movement, and design can come together in the most unexpected ways. 🎥 tt/_madiesunny_ #ParametricArchitecture #NedKahn #KineticArt #SoundArt #InteractiveDesign

This mesmerizing 8-second clip showcases a stunning piece of steampunk kinetic art. The device features a mechanical orb with a metallic baby face, surrounded by intricate brass gears and a rotating calendar ring. When a small key is inserted and turned, the entire mechanism springs to life — eyes roll, gears spin, and the jaw moves in a perfectly timed sequence. This type of creation is known as an Automaton, where complex internal clockwork brings lifelike motion to an object. Inspired by Victorian-era engineering, this piece blends art, mechanics, and imagination, creating something that feels both fascinating and slightly eerie. It’s a perfect example of how mechanical design can create lifelike movement without electronics. We got a @theojansen_official model kit. The box didn’t mention that it was Dad powered though. Note: this is not my art, it is a replica of the work of Theo Jansen. #art #sculpture #kineticart #kineticsculpture #theojansenstrandbeest
