Tried the Lumpianada from Pinoy Sa-Wrap 🌯✨—a crispy lumpia + empanada mashup I’ve been seeing all over my FYP. Golden, savory, and so satisfying. The Filipino empanada that I have used to typically has a dough, sweet crust, and the filling is ground beef or chicken with potatoes, raisins, carrots. The Ilocano empanada is not something I grew up since that is a different region of the Philippines than where my family is from. The Ilocano empanada has a crispier outside and the inside the filling is made of shredded papaya, monggo, hard-boil egg. Olympia Nada has that feeling as well as their vigan longanisa.
