On the surface, a traffic light 🚦 may not seem like it's worthy of celebration. For many of the people who live near Buckner Road and Veterans Memorial Highway, this moment was a long time coming. This intersection has been the site of multiple deadly crashes. Now, a new light will help regulate traffic at this intersection.

Mableton residents are feeling safer after a new traffic signal was installed at Veterans Memorial Highway and Buckner Road last week. 👏 The SPLOST-funded project is expected to reduce crashes and make crossing the road easier with signaled crosswalks. 🚦

El distrito escolar confirmó que una secretaria de la Escuela Primaria Mableton falleció mientras trabajaba. Indicaron que el personal de enfermería y de emergencias acudió de inmediato, pero no se pudo salvar.
Aunque no había estudiantes presentes, el distrito afirma que la dolorosa pérdida se sintió en toda la escuela. Se están poniendo a disposición consejeros y personal de apoyo del distrito para los estudiantes y el personal.
