There’s something very satisfying about a well placed Medusa ✨
Right in the center of the philtrum — that small natural groove between the nose and the upper lip. When it’s placed correctly, it doesn’t just sit there… it balances the whole face and highlights the cupid’s bow in a very subtle way 💎
In this reel I’m performing it freehand, which allows me to follow the client’s natural anatomy and line everything up exactly where it belongs 🎯
A couple of things people don’t always know about the Medusa piercing:
• It’s a very anatomy-dependent piercing — not every philtrum can support it properly.
• The initial jewelry is intentionally longer to accommodate swelling, and a downsizing is usually needed after a few weeks 🔄
• Average healing time is around 8–12 weeks with proper aftercare ⏳
• When the placement is correct, the flat back labret sits comfortably inside the lip and keeps the look clean and elegant ✨
Piercing is not just the moment of the needle going through.
It’s understanding anatomy, balance and long-term healing 🧠
