music photography can seem almost impossible to get your foot into, but here’s how I managed and how you can do the same! I was already going to loads of concerts but wanted to be like the photographers I kept seeing running around. I first tried to take a good photo with my phone, using the raw camera mode. It worked and I was happy with the results and they even got reposted on the bands story, which heavily motivated me to continue! I did some research into venue rules and restrictions and came to realise you’re allowed in with cameras with fixed lenses. After research, I found the Sony rx100iii to be a great choice for starting concert photography. After some research into camera settings, I kept my shutter speed always above 1/200 and aperture to the lowest it could go, as well as using a single autofocus point as opposed to the whole screen. and then I queued for hours my first time using it for a Good Kid show, I got a position a few rows from the front and got some of my absolute favourite pictures from the night! I went home and practiced editing in Adobe Lightroom for hours and hours and to this day I still learn new things while editing! #concertphotography #livemusic #photographytips #newphotographer #advice
