🙏Today is 8 years since the murder of Boris Nemtsov, Russia opposition politician that was shot dead on 27th February 2015 beside his Ukrainian partner Anna Durytska, on a bridge near the Kremlin in Moscow.

In short, Boris Nemtsov was shot four times in the back as he crossed a bridge in view of the Kremlin.This happened hours after appealing for support for a march on Sunday in Moscow against the war in Ukraine.
Previously Nemtsov had said that he feared Mr Putin would have him killed because of his opposition to the war in Ukraine.

When I listen to his interviews dated 2015 and before, I see how well he understood putin and the danger of him ruling russia even at that time when there were still no strict laws curtailing freedom of speech, etc.
If more people took seriously what he was saying at that time, the events of 2022 wouldn't take place.
He was optimistic in 2015 prior to his death that Russians would not live like slaves and keep silent but would oppose this type of oppressive government and take action to put an end to it.
I guess if he still lived today, either putin's government would not be here or he would find it extremely distressing to see what is happening in Ukraine now as a result of putin's politics and inaction of Russians.
It is absolutely devastating what has happened with the minds of many Russians, how many of them have been brainwashed. Many families fell apart because of a different position to the war in Ukraine.
I am sure that he would find it almost impossible to bear seeing that you can't currently oppose anything directly in Russia without facing a jail sentence. You have to flee and live somewhere else if you wish to speak your mind or talk about anything to do with reality.
Very sad he is no longer with us, such a wise person who could have said and done so much more.
