As I was filming the view at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and because I’m scared of heights, I jokingly said,
“I’m so startled! So startled!”
…which is an inside joke between me and my husband from South Park…
and apparently also something I say right before something actually happens.
Because immediately after that, my father-in-law almost stepped off the edge.
OMG 💀 it FREAKED me out.
I thought he was GONE for a second.
Right then you hear my husband say “don’t do that!” 🤣🤣🤣
He’s fine.
My brain is just… a few seconds behind.
Save this as a reminder to not stand that close to cliffs 😅
More moments like this coming from national parks and other wild places 👀
(This is just Part 1)
be honest… would you have said something or just watched in silence 😭

THREE YEARS AGO TODAY.
They said she was dead.
They said it was a mount.
They said it wasn’t me.
Records don’t answer to opinions.
Still standing.
Still documented.
Still mine.
Released strong.🔑
Remembered forever.✅
Anyone wanna join me? 🌲
If not: where do YOU think we should escape to????
😅

Ten days in the bush hunting…
No shower, no sleep, sore legs, waders still wet…
So naturally the next stop was a tiny Alaskan bar where I somehow ended up SINGING 😂
Hunting camp → bar stage real quick.
Why not? 🤷♀️🎤💁♀️

The pack has a new apprentice.
Here she is.
Siku.
A name with two hearts:
In Inuit, siku is the sea ice that has just become strong enough to cross; new, forming, learning its strength, yet already carrying life forward.
In East Africa, siku means day; a new beginning, a fresh chapter.
She arrived as a miniature husky whirlwind, all instinct, bright eyes, sharp paws and sharper curiosity.
Chaos wrapped in downy fur. A spark of the wild tucked under my arm.
But she’s not here to be tamed.
She’s here to learn, and to earn her place in this little tribe.
To watch Tug, our elder, steady heart, old soul, mountain sage disguised as a dog.
And one day, when her paws grow into their power,
she’ll run beside Nova,
the lightning to her snowstorm.
This is her beginning:
from ice to sunrise, from instinct to trust,
from wildling pup to mountain companion.
Welcome to the pack, Siku.
Little ice. New day.
You were born to run.
Das hier ist kein Urlaub.
Nur ein kurzer Blick vor die Tür. 🏔️
Während andere dafür verreisen, fährt man hier einfach los.

Also immer schön Dönerspieß spielen und regelmäßig drehen. 😉
🦵AUSZIEHEN: Nur in langer, trockener (Merino-)Unterwäsche schlafen.
Was hält euch warm in kühlen Frühlingsnächten? 🥶
