Just reminding our FURiends that NJ’s pinkest spring destination is NOW at PEAK BLOOM & DOGS are welcome! 🌸🐶 @branchbrookpark in Newark, NJ is a dog-friendly paradise where every step is surrounded by cherry blossoms in every shade of pink. It’s one of @doggieroadtrippin’s favorite annual traditions! Part of the @essexparks system and home to over 5,300 cherry blossom trees—even more than you’ll find in Washington, D.C.! What to expect: 🌸 Peak bloom is currently predicted for April 5-12 2026 (updated 4/1/26) 🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be leashed while walking the park 🐾There is a beautiful dog park where pups can play off-leash. located inside the park 💦 Bring water and a bowl for your pup 💩 Always pick up and dispose of any dog waste appropriately 🚫Make sure pups do not ingest cherry blossoms as that can be dangerous 🧽 Bring wipes to clean paws! 🐾 Weekends can get really crowded we suggest weekdays or early mornings! Best spots to see the blossoms: 🌸 Extension Division: Located on the northern end of the park, this area has the highest concentration of cherry trees. Near the Cherry Blossom Welcome Center 🌸 Prudential Concert Grove: A smaller but incredibly scenic grove in the southern division—perfect for photos. The Birdsong, The Dance and The Beach in Coney Island This day trip to Coney Island in Brooklyn from Jersey City had 5 episodes. The dance, the clear blue sky, the crowd, the trains, the beach(and a bonus episode in the end). Even with all of this, what stood out was an unexpected loud chatter of birds which I found in a noisy subway station in Coney Island. And that’s what gave me this title - The Birdsong. ——- A week ago, another train journey from the same New York city had taken me to the mountains. This day it brought me here, to the beach and the birdsong. This is why I choose to stay in this place. A city full of moving life and an artistic energy, surrounded by landscapes that offer completely different styles of nature.
