🌈 Didn’t catch the rainbow? 🌈 💗 Here’s a round-up of all the love 💗 For the month of June, a virtual double rainbow soared over Times Square. Stretched between the two poles along the 74W meridian line, ‘Polar Rainbow’ was created by Latvian-British artist Kristaps Ancāns [@kristaps_ancans] and curated by Corina L. Apostol [@corinalapostol] as a symbol of solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities around the world 🌎 Beginning on July 1 this augmented reality work will re-emerge over Warsaw, Poland 🇵🇱 and across the 21E meridian line, where it will be presented in collaboration with the Foundation Bęc Zmiana [@bec_zmiana]. Before ‘Polar Rainbow’ departs, join an artist-led virtual roundtable discussion about this traveling virtual project, Thursday, June 30 at 11am EST – find the link to join the discussion online in curator Corina Apostol’s bio [@corinalapostol]. 🌈 Follow the Rainbow’s next stops on socials with the hashtag #PolarRainbow. 🌈 Don’t forget to download the ‘Polar Rainbow’ app and spot the double rainbow right on your mobile device! 🌈

During the ice-free season, polar bears conserve their energy along coastal tundras. Captured by Martin Greguš Jr. (@mywildlive) in Hudson Bay, Canada, this polar bear and her cubs sit quietly at the water's edge. As the rain clears and light breaks through the clouds, a rainbow forms in the distance—a brief, colorful display that mirrors the briefness of summertime in the Arctic.

🌈 Intended as a symbol of solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities and those fighting for justice where human rights are under attack, artist Kristaps Ancāns [@kristaps_ancans] and curator Corina Apostol [@corinalapostol] have stretched an augmented reality double rainbow from North to South Pole on the 74W meridian line. Through the month of June, you can find #PolarRainbow soaring down 7th Avenue across New York City and beyond. A gesture designed to transcends borders, the project is inspired by the 1989 “Baltic Chain of Freedom”, when approximately two million people from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania joined hands and linked arms to form a human chain. As a peaceful political demonstration, the chain spanned 430 miles across the respective countries' borders during the dissolution of the Soviet Union. 🌈Follow the link in our bio for the #PolarRainbow App!🌈
