Sooo Polperro might be the cutest place we’ve visited in Cornwall!! We’ve both lived here for 6 years and never visited this little gem 🌊 Everywhere you look it is so beautiful and quirky! The food and atmosphere at The Blue Peter was 10/10! We can’t wait to go back already 🥰 . . . #cornwall #cornwallcoast #cornwallliving #cornwalllife #polperro

We had such a great time staying in Polperro, here are 10 activities we think you should do if you visit..... 1. Walk the coastal paths. We walked from Polperro along the coastal path to nearby Looe. A great walk for you and your dogs, and the views are incredible. It is very easy to follow with signage along the way. The walk is around 5.5 miles with some strenuous steps in parts. 2. Take a boat trip. Polperro boat trips offer cruises along the rugged Cornish coastline, with a chance to see dolphins, seals, jellyfish, and a variety of local sea birds. Dog travel for free. 3. Visit @doghousedeliandbar your pooch will be in heaven in this amazing petshop. Selling everything you could ever think of from toys to natural treats and brain buster games, and it even has its own ball pool and bar. 4. Have drinks in one of the many dogfriendly pubs. Well visited @thecrumplehorninn The Three Pilchards The Ship Inn The Royal Legion 5. Go out for breakfast. We loved eating breakfast in Polperro, and we tried @houseonprops and @plantationpolperro 6. Explore the harbour. The waters are crystal clear and so inviting we took a dip along with the spaniels. It's the most picturesque place, and we would grab a coffee and sit and soak up the sea air and watch the boats come and go. 7. Walk to Spy Point Lighthouse. This small lighthouse sits on Spy Point, and as you walk east along the coastal path and are observant, you just catch sight of the top of it. Otherwise, you might miss it. Built in 1911, it can be reached by walking down a narrow path and offering brilliant views out to sea. 8. Taste a homemade cornish ice cream. We couldn't resist grabbing an ice cream from Treleavens. Made on their premises, there's a huge variety to choose from. 9. Walk to Talland Bay. Talland Bay can be reached by walking east along the coastal path (on your way to Looe). It's a beautiful cove, perfect for swimming. Visit Talland Bay Beach Cafe and the Smugglers Rest. 10. Climb the rocks and enjoy incredible harbour views. This is perfect for finding rock pools to swim in and to get the best views .

Footage from Polperro in 1937, long past the days of smuggling, but still when this village was full of fishermen instead of second homes, regularly weaving baskets in the habour. #cornishindependence 〓〓

Could you tell who someone was just by the pattern on their jumper? 🧶 In the small Cornish village of Polperro, this might have been possible. We dive into the story behind the fisherman’s knit-frock, a traditional, hand-knitted jumper once worn by local fishermen and passed down through generations. These jumpers weren’t just for keeping warm. Each one had a pattern unique to a family, helping identify fishermen at sea. 📍 Polperro Heritage Museum | Grade II listed. 📍 The Three Pilchards Inn, Polperro | Grade II listed. 🔎 List Entry Numbers: 1329077, 1310459.
