Yesterday hundreds of thousands took to the streets of London to take a stand against racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and to show their support for Palestine. No matter the colour of your skin, your gender, your religious beliefs, the way you identify or who you love: the resounding feeling was unity. There were speeches from politicians, charity representatives, celebrities, trade unionists, firefighters and teachers. They spoke of their outrage towards Labour’s targeting of the most vulnerable in our society and the lack of a wealth tax for the most privileged. The speakers urged us to come together to block Reform and their politics of hate at elections. They made it clear that division, hate and hostility towards anyone in our society will not be tolerated and that the vast majority of people want to live in peace and unity together and celebrate our shared humanity. The SoR LGBTQI+ Network joined Katie Thompson, President of Society and College of Radiographers (SoR | CoR) at the Together Alliance March against the Far Right. Equality for everyone is all of our responsibilities. When one protected characteristics rights are eroded they all are. Those of us who believe in what equality truly mean must stand together, especially in times like now when so many of us are under constant threat. “#Intersex organizations received only about 1% of all global LGBTI funding. So with now an estimated 30% of that funding gone, the intersex movement is probably among the most affected.” This is what the funding crisis looks like for our movement. Since early 2025, over $125 million has been stripped from the global LGBTIQ human rights ecosystem. For communities that were already receiving less than 1% of total funding, a 30% cut can be downright devastating. “It affects us on multiple levels,” shares Magda Rakita from Poland’s @fundacja_interakcja. “Not only the projects which had to be canceled, but also the funding we were hoping for — which existed for years — are now withdrawn.” This is why #FundingOurFreedom matters. We’re raising $10 million by June 2026 to keep the entire LGBTIQ ecosystem alive, including and especially the communities most at risk of being erased when resources disappear. 50% regranted to frontline partners facing sudden shortfalls. 50% sustains Outright’s core programs to ensure ALL LGBTIQ people remain visible in policy, funding, and human rights mechanisms. 🧡 Our partners in 50+ countries face closure.
