Charlie Kirk, who was murdered today, was a strong supporter of Israel and a prominent figure in public debate.
Regardless of opinions about him, such a senseless act of violence is inexcusable.
His murder has no justification, and violence of this kind must have no place in society.
The artwork was meant as satire, highlighting their past social links and sparking public debate.

The Indian judiciary is once again at the centre of public debate.
Questions about judicial overreach, accountability, and democracy are being openly discussed — by legal experts, citizens, and commentators like Anand Ranganathan.
Is this democracy in action, or a system under stress?

Happy Women’s Day 💖
Celebrating today with a little trip down memory lane.
There was a time when I was incredibly passionate about talking about the hijab. I answered questions everywhere I went, and eventually I even wrote and published a book about it.
But over time, I grew tired.
And honestly, drained.
For years I spent a big part of my career answering questions like the one in this video — constantly having to justify my headscarf and my choices.
Eventually I made a decision: I would stop engaging in those conversations.
Because it started to feel like I was only contributing to the idea that my hijab was something up for public debate.
I had hoped that by now this would be a conversation we had moved past.
Unfortunately, it seems like the opposite.
Scrolling through my camera roll and coming across this video reminded me that what we talked about back then is still just as relevant today.
But if there’s one thing the past years have taught me, it’s this:
The more we show up as ourselves — unapologetically — the harder it becomes for the world to pretend we don’t belong.
And I truly believe the next generation of Muslim women will walk through doors that we had to knock on.🚪🧕🏼
Woman criticized for bringing food to her homeless brother as a family’s private struggle becomes a public debate on social media. This Woman criticized for bringing food to her homeless brother update covers the viral response to a sister’s attempt to provide for her sibling living on the streets.
The controversy began when a woman, identified as Sarah Miller, posted a video documenting her weekly routine of bringing home-cooked meals and supplies to her brother, who has been unhoused for three years. While many praised her dedication, a wave of “tough love” critics flooded her comments, claiming her actions were “enabling” his situation and preventing him from seeking professional help or state-run shelters. The debate intensified as local residents also criticized her for “attracting” more homeless individuals to the specific neighborhood where her brother stays. Sarah has since fired back, stating that her brother suffers from severe mental health issues that make traditional shelters a “nightmare” for him, and that her priority is ensuring he simply survives another night.

In a political climate where public debate can be understated, two longtime residents, an international lawyer and a restaurant chain owner, reflect on Japan’s snap election. Their view: consolidation over transformation. With the opposition fragmented and policy largely steady, continuity may be the quiet headline.
What's your take on this new political era?

Why Doctors Must Debate Pseudoscience Practitioners:
@vasuvedaofficial
When medical science communicators debate practitioners of pseudoscience, they provide a crucial public service by directly exposing the flaws in unproven health claims. Vulnerable patients are often targeted by people offering false hope, and ignoring these pseudoscientific voices allows dangerous misinformation to spread unchecked. By engaging in clear, public discussions, experts can contrast manipulative fiction with evidence-based facts in real-time. This side-by-side comparison empowers the public to recognize deceptive tactics, make informed decisions about their healthcare, and avoid potentially harmful or costly fake treatments.
When a qualified communicator steps into a public debate, they aren't necessarily trying to convince the pseudoscience advocate; they're speaking to the audience — the undecided patient, the worried parent, the person scrolling social media — who deserves to hear the evidence laid out clearly alongside the unproven claims so they can compare for themselves. Avoiding these conversations out of fear of "giving legitimacy" to bad ideas can backfire, because those ideas are already circulating widely and gaining trust precisely because no credible voice is pushing back in the same spaces where people are listening.

Many people continue paying toll tax without questioning the system, while it is often mentioned that certain public officials are granted exemptions. This situation raises concerns among ordinary citizens — if some categories receive exemptions, why should the general public bear the full cost?
Toll taxes are usually collected for building, maintaining, and managing highways and other road infrastructure. However, transparency and fairness in the way exemptions are provided remain an important topic for public discussion. When people feel that the system is unclear or unequal, asking questions through democratic means is their right.
In a democratic society, expressing concerns respectfully — whether through public debate, representation, or policy discussions — plays a key role in ensuring accountability and improvement. Meaningful conversations based on facts and understanding of the law can help ensure that policies remain fair and transparent for everyone.
