The clip shows a man sitting in his car, casually showing off a pair of extremely thick eyeglasses. The lenses look wildly distorted—almost like melting glass—because of their heavy prescription and the way they refract light. Laughing, he explains they’re old but still work perfectly for him.
Viewers quickly turned it into a joke, saying the lenses are so strong he can “see tomorrow” or “read the future.” The exaggerated thickness makes for a perfect viral moment—simple, relatable, and unintentionally hilarious.
The original creator isn’t clearly identified, and versions of the clip have circulated across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube since around 2022 as part of a broader trend highlighting extreme prescriptions.

@mileennial is capturing Lake Louise's pristine beauty. 🗻❤️
💡The vibrant turquoise color of Lake Louise's water is a result of rock flour, which is finely ground rock particles created by glacial erosion. The suspended rock particles in the water refract sunlight in a way that gives the lake its mesmerizing turquoise hue. This unique natural phenomenon makes Lake Louise one of the most visually stunning and photographed lakes in the world.

Video by @michaelgeorge | The Summit One Vanderbilt observation deck in New York City is a veritable wonderland of sensory experiences. Kenzo Digital, the artist who designed each room, uses mirrors to reflect and refract the city that surrounds the building. In this room, the installation known as “Affinity” surrounds the viewer with silver Mylar balloons that seem to have a life of their own. For more videos and writing from my travels, follow along @michaelgeorge.
I built a Glass Block wall in the middle of my family room.
This room is 25 feet long and had potential to be two separate spaces. There are two giant windows in this room which would refract in the glass beautifully. Slowly but surely I am bringing this midcentury modern aesthetic back into the house!

Why did no one ever tell us that vision can be restored without glasses, contacts, or surgery?
Strain builds in the muscles that move the eyes and pulls the eye into a misaligned shape that causes the lens to incorrectly refract the incoming light.
Once that strain is removed through relaxation practices then clear vision returns.
Comment “Vibrant” to learn how to restore your vision today.

🦸♂️ Interesting fact:
The Boys (2019–Present) — This wild superhero satire stars Karl Urban and Antony Starr.
To create the iconic “Translucent” look, the VFX team didn’t just make the actor invisible; they actually mapped out how light would refract through a human-shaped prism!
On set, Jack Quaid and the cast have a “curse jar” for whenever someone breaks character by laughing during a serious take. Despite the intense rivalry on screen, the actors are incredibly close, often spending their weekends together exploring the city where they film!
Obsessed with the dazzling display of spore dispersion captured by @laurent_nam 😍
The bracket fungi is backlit using an LED light to showcase the spores, the colors are created as the spores refract and reflect the light from behind 🍄

#repost Now here is a sparkler. And I mean sparkler. Photos, and the video frankly, do not do it justice. The texture in the sequins forces the light to refract in beautiful ways and really makes this beauty glow. The matte red hardware was thrown in so she can be extra extra :)

Aurora Laser Projector: caustic refraction clouds- red, green, and blue laser elements are refracted through a rotating optical element with lumpy surface features which create this amazing aurora/nebula effect. When light rays refract through a curved surface they concentrate into bright patches called caustics, often with cusp singularities (sharp points) and intricate threads of shadow. ➡ Follow the link in my profile for info on where to get this and other amazing items featured here on @physicsfun #physics #physicstoy #optics #physicsfun #additiveoptics #opticalelements #caustics #laser #laserpointer #refraction #lightrays #science #scienceisawesome
