SATPIN ✨ Don’t know where to start with pre-schoolers and letters? SATPIN is the go-to letter set when introducing phonics, and here’s why: 🩵These letters form the most simple, early words. 🩷They include a mix of common consonants & vowels. 💛They help kids build confidence quickly! Today, we explored letters using our @learnandgrow_toys tile toppers, matching them with our CollectA animals & objects from @thecreativetoyshop Phoenix has been asking what all the different letters are in our book when reading and what sound they make so I thought that I would set up this simple matching activity using our @kmartaus whiteboard (which conveniently fits our magnetic tiles into 😍). He practiced writing three letters and had fun discussing the rest—learning sounds, making connections, and sparking curiosity! Sorry if it makes you feel a little seasick but I do hope it's helpful. We can continue to make a series of phonics lessons like this if it's useful so please let us know in the comments. From my uni days and throughout my teaching years - Phonics has always been and continues to be a big love of mine. I think everyone should be given some sort of phonics training - it underpins reading and of course writing too. But, it can be a tricky thing to 'reteach' if it's not picked up correctly. It's never too late to learn - both my mum and husband would agree as I've forced my phonics teaching on them over the years 😂 but it also means when we are reading with Eri we are all consistent. If you're not confident - let your little one teach you. They will love it. They will also love to correct you when you're wrong! I think this might be the first time ever that my voice has appeared on our page. So do be kind 😂 but polite constructive criticism is welcome (as long as it's only aimed at me!)
