🧪 Science gets a lot more exciting when you can see it happen. 🤯
These simple experiments show that some of the coolest scientific concepts can be explored with everyday materials.
Watch until the end… you might find your next weekend experiment.

My kids proclaimed this to be our coolest experiment yet... and I agree! 🧊🫧
You just need dry ice, dish soap, and warm water.
⚠️ Safety Tip: For this experiment, a grown up should handle the dry ice carefully while wearing gloves and using tongs.
- Combine a few pumps of dish soap and warm water
- Have a grown-up carefully add dry ice
- Watch the bubbles form! The bubbles are safe to touch once they form.
So what's happening in this experiment? When you add dry ice to warm water, you immediately see the dry ice begin to bubble and create a cloudy fog (see our previous dry ice video for the basics). Adding soap creates a whole new and even more exciting effect! Instead of the dry ice just bubbling in the water to make a cloud, the soap in the water traps the carbon dioxide and water vapor in a soapy bubble. They're fun to pop too!

🚧✨ Up, up and away! Who’s ready for a little STEM magic?
Turn some simple cardboard into a mini DIY crane that actually moves with the push of a syringe! 🤯🛠️ Such a clever way to turn everyday materials into a hands-on STEM activity that kids can explore, build and play with.
It’s more than just a craft—it’s a fun little introduction to movement, simple machines, problem-solving and cause-and-effect. Perfect for curious little minds who love asking, “But how does it work?” 💛
👩👧 Mum tip: This would make such a fun weekend project to build together. Let the kids decorate their crane afterwards and turn it into their very own mini construction site! 🏗️

A tiny paper worm… but so much science to see! 🐛💧🔬
The girls had so much fun watching these little worms stretch, wiggle, and “come to life” when they touched the water. Such a simple activity, but perfect for sparking curiosity and getting little scientists asking WHY? 👀✨
🔬 THE SCIENCE
As the paper towel absorbs water, the water travels through the tiny spaces between the fibers through capillary action. The fibers expand as they get wet, causing the scrunched-up worm to slowly stretch and wiggle. 🐛💦
🧠 KIDS ARE LEARNING
✨ Capillary action
✨ Cause & effect
✨ Prediction
✨ Observation
✨ Fine motor skills
🌱 Real-world connection: Plants also use capillary action to help move water upward through their stems.
A big thank you to my Insta bestie @twin.toddler.mom for this adorable idea! 🤍 She’s also one of my biggest cheerleaders, and I’m so proud of everything she’s creating. The kids absolutely loved this one, and as always, I had so much fun collaborating with you. Here’s to many, many more together! 🥰✨
