Amazing primates in the Amazon Rainforest šŸ’ High up in the treetops, a troop of Red howler monkeys rests, their prehensile tails gripping the branches firmly as their curious eyes scan the forest. They live in large groups, where every member finds safety and companionship. But when they decide to make themselves heard… their powerful howl echoes through the Amazon Rainforest! šŸ’šExplore the Amazon, marvel at its wildlife, and join the effort to protect it. #redhowlermonkey #howlermonkey #amazonwildlife #amazingmammals #amazonrainforest #peruvianamazon #cotomono #monorojoaullador #monoaullador
Wildlife doesn’t speak out language, but it has always had a voice šŸ’ššŸ¾šŸŒ² Wildlife can’t stand up in meetings. It can’t vote, protest or explain why an ancient forest matters. It has no voice in the decisions that shape its future. Every forest, wetland and mountain is home to countless species that depend on these places to survive. When habitats disappear, wildlife simply has to adapt to what is left. As a nature photographer, I have been lucky enough to witness moments that remind me why these places matter. Moments that can’t be recreated once they are gone. #animals #wildlife #photographer #norway #finland
PLEASE SHARE — it’s #internationaldayofforests | In the last year we’ve protected thousands of new acres of the Amazon rainforest from logging in gold mining. Bringing our total protected land to 130,000 acres. This is all been made possible by people from around the world who contribute to the local indigenous efforts to save their ancient forest. People donate five dollars a $10 a month and all of those little raindrops make a flood of change in the jungle. We are able to use local knowledge to turn loggers and gold miners into conservation ranges. Now with 130,000 acres protected, we are looking to protect a total score of 300,000 acres, and the great news that we have is that the Peruvian government has agreed that if we can do this, they will turn it into a national park! we are saving one of the wildest places on earth, earth, and tens of millions of animals! We cannot do it without you. And it cannot wait. This chance will never come again in history. Let’s save it before it’s too late! Join our team! Www.junglekeepers.org
Starting this week, world leaders will gather in BĆ©lem, Brazil for COP30, the first global climate summit held in the rainforest. Brazil is home to 60% of the Amazon - the lungs of the Earth, and one of our planet’s most vital life-support systems. Yet is in peril. In the last four decades, animal agriculture (pasture and feed crops) has driven 95% of its deforestation in Brazil. Globally animal agriculture and extractive industries like mining and oil have caused the destruction of hundreds of millions of acres of irreplaceable ecosystems. Indigenous Peoples have shown us that safeguarding nature is our most powerful solution to the climate, biodiversity, and human wellbeing crises. @rewild is honored to be part of the Protecting Our Planet Challenge alongside other partners, and will be pledging another $500 million toward The Forest Tenure Funder’s Group’s effort to help our Indigenous Peoples and local communities protect their ancestral lands. Our world leaders at COP30 must also guarantee nature’s most effective guardians the resources they need to continue protecting these vital ecosystems, through mechanisms like the Tropical Forests Forever Facility. I urge leaders to unite and meet the moment. Our future depends on it.
I want you to see this! before it’s too late šŸ˜” These forests in Papua And Kalimantan do more than look beautiful. They store carbon, like giant sponges that help keep the Earth from getting too hot. But right now, they’re burning. As of August 20, 2026: South Papua: 116 - 2.496 hectares burned West Kalimantan: 38,310 hectares burned And more burning in Central, East, and South Kalimantan. If these forests disappear, all that stored carbon goes into the air. And our planet gets even hotter. Let’s protect them while we still can. #forest #borneo #papua #indonesia
šŸ‡®šŸ‡©Pray for Indonesia.šŸ‡®šŸ‡© I want the world to know what’s happening to our forests. Imagine losing your home, your future, and even the right to breathe clean air. Borneo is home to one of the world’s most precious rainforests, ancient trees, endangered orangutans, and countless species that depend on this ecosystem to survive. Yet forest and land fires continue to destroy habitats, threaten communities, and fill the air with dangerous smoke. In Indonesia, 202,004 hectares burned between January and July 2026. At least 46 orangutans were reportedly rescued from fire-affected habitats in West Kalimantan between August and 9 October 2026. But behind these numbers are real lives. WHAT WE CAN DO: 1. Support firefighters, wildlife rescuers, and affected communities. 2. Support trusted organisations protecting forests, restoring peatlands, and empowering Indigenous communities. 3. Keep raising awareness and demanding stronger environmental protection. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. We might be the last generation to see some of these forests as they are today. But we can still fight to protect what’s left. Every tree that burns takes a piece of our future with it. Clean air is a right, not a privilege. Protect our forests. Protect our wildlife. Protect our people. Protect our future. Conservation should be big and small, near and far. Yes, protecting the rainforest matters. So does protecting the prairie down the road. We’re a local land and water conservation nonprofit working in the Chicago suburbs. We preserve land, improve water quality, and connect people to nearby nature. You don’t have to live near grand mountains or oceans to care deeply about the land. Here, the Midwest holds its own kind of wonder in the prairies, woodlands, wetlands, and streams. Love where you live and help protect it. šŸ’š
🚨 This #EarthDay, under the theme Our Power, Our Planet, we’re reminded that each of us has a role to play in protecting the wildlife and wild spaces we all depend on. Africa’s rich heritage is deeply connected to the incredible wildlife that calls this continent home. From tiny rain frogs to iconic elephants 🐸🐘, across forests, wetlands, and savannahs... every species is a vital link in an irreplaceable chain. 🐾🌲 Our power lies in the choices we make every day. Together, we can protect our planet, because if we lose this šŸŒ, we lose everything. Thank you to @alliancemediaafrica for helping share this message on billboards across the continent. šŸŒ
Trump wants to let special interests build over our protected forests—and we need to fight back to stop it.Ā  The public comment period to overturn the Roadless Rule closes at midnight on September 21. Speak out now to SAVE OUR FORESTS.
Swipe to see why everyone thinks this is fake… but it’s 100% real 😱🌈 The Rainbow Eucalyptus isn’t having an identity crisis—it’s just shedding its bark! As strips peel away at different times, the fresh inner bark starts neon green, then ages through blue, purple, orange & maroon. Basically, it’s the only tree that changes outfits more than you do šŸ’… Found in the Philippines, Indonesia & Hawaii, these giants smell like mint but look like abstract art. Nature really said, "Let’s make a tree that breaks the internet" šŸŽØ Tag someone who needs to see this! šŸ‘‡ Save this for your next "nature facts that sound fake" conversation starter šŸ“Œ #RainbowEucalyptus #RainbowTree #NatureFacts #HiddenFacts #PhilippinesNature
With a week left to make our voices heard to keep the roadless rule in place, I thought this post was necessary. It’s not only us that enjoy these public lands and national forests, but all the wildlife, plants, birds, and microorganisms as well. More information about this in my bio, and a place to leave a comment as well. #wildlife #conservation #enviromentallyfriendly #nationalforest #nationalpark
