It’s freaking hard… It doesn’t mean I regret my decision. It doesn’t mean I wish for a different scenario. It just means that it’s freaking hard. There are the big parts of solo parenting that are very stressful - šŸ¦‹1 income šŸ¦‹juggling parenting and working with no support šŸ¦‹no tap outs when you or your child are overwhelmed šŸ¦‹every decision is yours and you have no one to check in with šŸ¦‹ lonliness And then there are the small parts which can be more overwhelming than the big ones… šŸ¦‹ finding some way to entertain her every weekend, holiday or war šŸ¦‹ bringing her with me to everything, even when it’s not always appropriate (she has had to come to every breast check because of the hour) šŸ¦‹ deciding on, cooking and clearing up every single meal šŸ¦‹ no breaks when you are trying to do the simplest things, like get ready in the morning. I became a solo mum by choice and I knew my decision was gonna be a hard one, but I don’t think I understood how hard. I share these posts because I know there are other solo mums out there (by choice or circumstance), who just get it, and for those who aren’t… this is a little of what being a solo parent is like. I might look like I have it all together. Make up done. Hair waved. Workout consistently. Eat well. Maintain my weight. Morning routine down. But behind all that, I am also a solo mum completely overwhelmed by what it all entails! I would make the same decision over and over again because this is what I always wanted… but yeh it’s freaking hard! Solo mums it’s your time to chime in… what parts do you find the hardest? #solomumbychoice #soloparent #solomum #toddlerparenting
Solo parenting isnt for the faint hearted but you better be sure you got a big heart because you get alllll that love & for that, I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat šŸ’› #soloparent #soloparenting #singlemumlife #parenthood
Single moms carry a heavy financial burden, and because I believe we deserve to live a self-sufficient life on our own terms, I intend to do something to help. Comment GUIDE for a link to my free 50/30/20 Startup guide! It’s a tremendous blessing to be able to sit with another woman and help her bring clarity to her financial picture. I know we can all agree that teachers get the short end of the stick in this economy. This angel of a woman was finding it difficult to see how she could save regularly given her level of income and expenses. Once we got into the details, we had to shift our priorities and now we are charting out a new plan to bring some stability to her household budget. This ended up being a little longer than I expected, so please come back for Part 2! #singlemom #budget #zerobasedbudget #soloparent

ā€œMother’s spend child support on getting their nails done, not on the kidsā€ā€¦. I’ve seen this comment far too many times on a recent post I made in support of solo parents with children that go without. Even if a solo parent did get their nails done….šŸ’… or parts for their car… that could be with their own money. It doesn’t make them unfit. I try and spread positivity here, but getting comments like this tend not to sit right with me. So I’m putting it to bed. I’m NOT an expert. This generalised. This is not intended to be factual advice, this is my own understanding of how the system works. I’ve not known how to share this. But I wanted to address this here on this platform that has created so much good in my life. So many have followed me on various platforms, in various ways and I have been so lucky to share so many of my life’s greatest moments and struggles with you. So many of you followed my journey of meeting someone, dating, falling in love, and getting married in April of 2024. What I did not share publicly is that the kids and I moved out at the end of June…just under three months after getting married. The last year has been the most devastating and earth-shattering year of my life. I fully believe in showing up on social media and sharing authentically, but I also believe in guarding your journey and ensuring that you’re sharing from a place of stability and not reactivity. I am now divorced. That sentence still feels like the most surreal and out-of-body thing I could ever write. It has been the most sad I have ever been. The most tears I have ever cried. The most unsure of life I have ever been. But now that the divorce has been final about a month, I am beginning to find my bearings and I wanted to address it here. I want to be a person who shares not only the high moments that look shiny, but also the low, not-so-shiny moments. Here’s what I want to say: when I thought I had found the love of my life and thought God had answered a deep longing and prayer in my life…God was good. And as I’ve navigated the devastation of my marriage ending…God is still good. I can say with full confidence that God has been with me…that in the most difficult season of my life, His love was so present. Anyway, I wanted to share this in case anyone else’s world is falling apart. In case you find yourself in an unexpected divorce or separation. You aren’t alone. Right now, my focus is on one thing: my kids. We are safe. We are rebuilding. And watching them thrive has been my greatest gift. They are my anchor, my joy, and truly they saved my life.Ā  If you’re in a hard place, hold on. ā¤ļø With much love & gratitude for reading this.
