For the first time in Texas history, this rule has been formally invoked to demand answers.
As Vice Chairman of Homeland Security & Public Safety, I have requested a hearing to examine the evidence and ensure full transparency.
The families deserve truth. Texas deserves accountability. Justice must prevail.

Long before #Texas was a state, before the Alamo, before any flag flew over this land, #Tejanos were here. Ranching, farming, building communities, and shaping a culture that would define the entire region. The #vaquero, the cattle drives, the music, the food — none of it exists without the Tejano people who lived and worked this land for generations.
Through wars, through borders being drawn and redrawn, through discrimination and being treated like strangers in their own homeland, Tejanos never left. They fought for their land. They fought for their rights. They fought for their identity. And they built a culture so strong that it refused to be erased.
From the early settlers of the Spanish land grants to the civil rights leaders of the 20th century, from the musicians who created conjunto and Tejano music to the activists who demanded fair treatment for farmworkers — Tejanos have always been at the center of Texas history, even when the history books tried to leave them out.
That is what South Texas is. It is not a border. It is a birthplace. And the Tejano spirit is still here, still fighting, still proud.

Did you follow this fight when it was happening? 👇
The fight over the Cenotaph at the Alamo wasn’t just politics — it was about who controls our history, our laws, and our legacy.
A small group stepped in.
State authority mattered.
Veterans mattered.
Texas history mattered.
And on Veterans Day, it was dedicated again.
When you live here, you understand why that matters.
Proud day in Collin County as we dedicated the “Victory or Death” Alamo Letter Monument honoring the legendary words of William B. Travis and the enduring spirit of the Battle of the Alamo
These powerful words remind us of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve that helped shape Texas history. This monument stands as a tribute to those who chose bravery in the face of impossible odds and as an inspiration for future generations.
On the outskirts of Houston, you’ll find a massive ranch with tons of Texas history. The George Ranch has been a part of The Lone Star State since 1824 and here you can see what life was like with historic houses, a working ranch on hand, and one incredibly story. #thetexasbucketlist #texashistory #georgeranch #houston
Charlie Kirk challenged a common narrative about the history of Texas and who originally occupied the land. During the exchange, an audience member argued that Mexicans were originally connected to the region through Indigenous civilizations such as the Aztecs and Mayans. Kirk pushed back, pointing out that Texas was home to numerous Native American tribes long before modern national borders existed. He argued that describing the history simply as one group “stealing” land from another ignores the complicated history of Indigenous peoples, Spain, Mexico, and the eventual formation of the United States.
The discussion then moved into the idea of Manifest Destiny and territorial expansion. Kirk argued that Mexico itself had participated in territorial expansion under Spanish rule and suggested that historical claims about land should be examined consistently rather than applied selectively. His larger argument centered on self-determination and the idea that nations and societies have repeatedly changed borders throughout history.
Kirk also challenged the modern practice of land acknowledgments, which are often used to recognize Indigenous peoples and the history of land ownership. Instead, he suggested that Americans should approach the subject through gratitude for living in the United States and appreciation for the country’s history and opportunities.
For conservatives and Americans interested in Texas history, Native American history, Mexican history, Manifest Destiny, and American identity, this exchange raises difficult questions about how the past should be remembered. History involves conquest, migration, shifting borders, Indigenous nations, and competing claims to territory. Understanding that complexity requires looking beyond simple political narratives and examining the historical record from multiple perspectives.

Texas Made 🤘🏽🔥
One of my favorite songs I’ve ever had the pleasure of recording — and getting to do it with a Texas legend, Lil Flip. 💯🤘🏽
This one is bigger than a song… it’s Texas history, Texas sound, and two generations of the culture coming together. Much love and respect to the legend himself! 👑
Turn it up and let Texas know what time it is!
Some cool #SUNDAYWISDOM and Texas history from Ulysses S. Grant, by way of @ryanholiday.
