I was absolutely stoked to tick the @timeoutmarketcapetown off my foodie bucket list — even more so because we had the yummiest food 🤪 We’ve both been to the Time Out market in Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹 and I can easily say that the Cape Town version is so. much. better!! Not only do I love the concept because there are so many amazing stalls to choose from, it’s the perfect place to go as a group of friends because you can all order different things, there’s no need to book a table and it’s super central not to mention fun 🥰 I am utterly obsessed with the @HowBaoNow bao buns!!!!!! My fave was the pork and my mum’s fave was the chicken! Would go back just for these alone 🥲🤤🔥 Add this to your CPT bucket list 📝 if you have not been yet!! Cape Town foodies, you need to visit this place! The @timeoutmarketcapetown at the V&A Waterfront has finally opened!🤩 Don’t make the mistake we did and eat before you go🙃 This food market has both local and international cuisine from some of Cape Town’s best restaurants 🍔🍕🍜🍦There is also a nice bar upstairs to grab a drink🍹 There are sooo many great food options to choose from, definitely something for everyone! There were so many things I would love to try! There is also lots of seating both upstairs and downstairs. If you love food, this market won’t disappoint!🤩 *Make sure to check the operating hours for the day you visit as we visited on a Saturday and the restaurants only opened at 11am, with the exception of a cafe that was open earlier. 📍Brooklyn, NY - Explored Timeout Market in New York @timeoutmarketnewyork reminiscing about the one in Lisbon…but the view of my iconic Brooklyn Bridge is mesmerizing. I was excited to know one was opening in Cape Town but I missed the opening by days last November…oh well! Anyway, Timeout Market is a fantastic spot! Whether you’re into diverse culinary experiences or just want to explore new flavors, TM has it all. I had the pork belly arepa from the maiz project 🇻🇪 @themaizproject (downstairs) while my friend enjoyed her brisket from the Bark Barbecue 🇩🇴 @bark_barbecue (upstairs). Make sure to visit the rooftop for great views and sip on the Sangria Spritz from the bar. Took some Time Out to try the new TimeOut Market in Cape Town at the V&A waterfront😋! It’s a great food market with loads of options. I personally felt that the food presentation was very impressive👌, but the actual food quality for me could have been better. Food was a bit ££ at some of the food stalls…but it is the V&A waterfront Cape Town, so these prices are the norm I guess🤷‍♀️. I did like that there was loads of room to sit down. Of course the location at V&A waterfront also means that you get a gorgeous view of table mountain if you sit outside🥰. I started with the sticky chicken winglets with umami mayo—the sauce was sweet, savory, and totally addictive. Then, I moved on to Siba’s famous slow-braised oxtail, which was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. And the dombolo (a traditional South African dumpling) was just perfect for dipping into that delicious sauce.
