Underneath a bruised Finsbury Park sky (July 5), Wolf Alice didn't just throw the biggest headline show of their career. They staged a violent, beautiful seance. Just as the post-encore dust was settling, Joff Oddie’s bass started feedbacking a jagged, familiar frequency that sent a collective shiver down 40,000 spines. Without a shred of warning, Ellie Rowsell tore open her vocal cords and spat out the first verse of Nirvana’s holy scripture, "Smells Like Teen Spirit." This wasn't some polished, polite pop tribute. It was an absolute sonic hijacking. Rowsell delivered the lines with the cold, feral stare of a mid-90s Courtney Love, while the rest of the band thrashed their instruments like a concrete-crushing machine. The verse bled, the chorus exploded, and the London crowd completely lost gravity, collapsing into a brutal, beautiful, mud-soaked mosh pit.
