We’re Nottinghamshire Police… of course, women can work for us.👮♀️
Our female officers and staff face discrimination every day for simply doing their job.
So, this International Women’s Day 💜 we thought we’d show you some real-life comments that have been said to our female workforce.

LADIES!!! This message is for you. In 2023, The Boston Police Department along with police departments nationwide took the 30X30 pledge. We pledged to have more women on this job. Boston Police Department took it a step further by creating BPD Women Lead. This is a mentoring program that pairs current officers(of all ranks) with recruit officers that are set to graduate soon.
So If that woman is you, then take the test, workout, study and make it through the academy.
Then and only then will you belong to best police department in the nation.

Nobody warned me about this part of police prep.
It’s not just the physical tests.
It’s showing up tired, frustrated, and still choosing to push through.
This is where mental endurance is built.
If you’re training too, you’re not alone.

Today we’re spotlighting the work of Sgt. Talisa McClain who is the Durham Police Department’s only female Physical Training (PT) instructor.
As a PT instructor, Sgt. McClain demonstrates exercises, provides feedback, and ensures DPD recruits are performing the fitness exercises correctly during morning PT sessions.
She became a certified PT instructor in 2017, after she joined DPD’s Recruiting Unit and saw the department had no female PT instructors.
“I believe that female PT instructors are needed because it allows female recruits who are going through the academy to see other females in this role,” Sgt. McClain said. “They can know that if that female was able to achieve, then they also have what it takes to achieve it as well.”
To become a PT instructor, Sgt. McClain completed the Specialized Physical Fitness Instructor Training course, which includes classroom and field instruction. She also had to demonstrate competency in physical fitness assessments, exercise programs, and instructional methods.
She said she hopes to inspire more women at DPD to consider becoming PT instructors as well.
“As the department continues to grow and become more diverse and as we strive for our 30x30 Initiative, it is important that we have women in all ranks and all positions in the agency,” Sgt. McClain says.

CALLING ALL ASPIRING POLICE OFFICERS! 🚨
Today was all about preparation, grit, and commitment. 💪
We hosted both our APREP Workshop and RCMP PFA Workshop, and these women showed up ready to work. From learning the standards, to dialing in technique, to pushing through the tough moments—this is what preparing for a career in policing actually looks like.
Every rep mattered. Every question mattered. And every woman in the room took another step closer to earning her badge. This isn’t just about passing a fitness test—it’s about building confidence, capability, and professionalism before day one on the job.
If a career in policing is your goal, don’t leave your preparation to chance.
Train with people who understand the standard and how to meet it.
👉 Train with Blue Line Fitness Testing and prepare the right way.
