~One of the greatest uses for off cuts that I’ve made yet! “Tumi ishi” means piled rocks in Japanese, and that’s what these abstract pieces of wood are meant to remind you of. These can be selected for all age ranges and skill levels—from dexterity practice for your toddler to an extreme challenge for your teenagers to once again dexterity practice for your seniors. The difficult level comes from just how parallel the flats on your “rocks” are—and I am completely random with where and at what angle those flats are applied. We have a set of ten that so far, no one has gotten past eight stacked one on top of the other 😈 $3 per block OR ten blocks for $28 along with a lovely cotton drawstring bag to hold them in as well. ~ #amotherchuckingwood #woodenblocks #tumiishi #offcuts #dexteritygames

Blocks that’ll be passed down to the next generation. I know they’re an investment… but I promise, Grimm’s blocks are worth every penny ❤️✨ #playmatters #openendedplay #openendedtoys #playroomideas #woodenblocks

BLOCK HAPPY // 🩷🔴🧡🟡💚🔵💜 Too many blocks? Blasphemy 😆 For anyone who knows me, knows - the blocks were never about having one of everything, and all about leaning into my eldest hyperfocus on stacking / positioning play schema. His builds at two were phenomenal for a kid that was extremely lacking in fine and gross motor - OT was so shocked at three she got us straight onto NDIS early intervention as he was so globally delayed). No, you don't need this many. Yes i went overboard. Zero regrets about all the play memories and development for my global delay kiddos. Bloody stocked at all the play at home, that means you would never know now how far they've both come. Best thing i could have done for my boys was lean into all the play so heavily (also kept me hanging in by a thread when i was trying to work through covid iso with two little nd kiddos, no help and mass workplace bullying that erroded me completely. The toys got me through it - so they legit saved me and hold an extra special place 🫶 . . . #grimmswoodentoys #bauspiel #woodenblocks #openendedtoys #playroom

We forever have missing pieces. Some sets have had a piece turn up after more than a year 😅 But thats the reality when you have children actively playing. It's a clear signal your play space is a success. Things going walkabout around the house. I know it bothers many when they have a missing piece. I am probably making their eyes twitch at how many missing pieces we have 🪵 #playroom #playroomorganization #woodenblocks #woodentoys #grimmswoodentoys
