1. Strong Mathematical skills
This is a career that runs on numbers so mathematical skills are a must
2. Exam schedule( important)
In India, the path starts with ACET, the Actuarial Common Entrance Test conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India. Once you clear that, you work through 13 actuarial papers across three stages. Most people take years to complete all of them while working full time. The people who make it treat the exams like a second job from day one.
3. Attention to detail
One wrong number can affect millions in claims or pension payouts accuracy is everything.
Actuaries are extreme hard workers and their discipline is truly something that should be appreciated. As a career path it requires serious consideration because of the kind of commitment needed.
