Aref passed away yesterday at the age of 85. He generously left us with his gift, his voice, the barraton charismatic voice that even at the age or 82 when he sold out Sony Centre (Meridian), left everyone in the venue stunned from his stage presence and his voice.
He left this world but his voice and his astonishing catalog of timeless songs from Soltane Ghalbha to Eshghe To Nemimirad and many more will stay present here forever.
عارف دیروز در سن ۸۵ سالگی از بین ما رفت.
با سخاوت، بزرگ‌ترین هدیه‌ش رو برای ما گذاشت؛ صدای خاص و کاریزماتیکش… یه صدای باریتون که حتی تو ۸۲ سالگی، وقتی سالن «مریدین هال» (سونی سنتر سابق) رو سولد اوت کرد، همه رو از حضور صحنه‌ایش و قدرت صداش میخکوب کرده بود.
از این دنیا رفت، اما صداش و اون همه آهنگ ماندگارش… از «سلطان قلبها» تا «عشق تو نمی‌میرد» و خیلی‌های دیگه، همیشه با ما می‌مونه
به پیری بگو پیری دست نگه دار!

Aref was a great Iranian artist.
His only “crime” was that he was an artist and deeply loved by the people.
For 47 years, they did not allow him to see his homeland.
He lived in exile with the dream that one day he would hold a concert in Iran.
In the end, he left us behind with a lifetime of memories.

پنجاه سال پیش، جایی در لس آنجلس تأسیس شد که نه تنها موسیقی ایرانی را در غربت زنده نگه داشت، بلکه مکانی شد برای جمع شدن هموطنان و دنبال کردن خبرهای ایران، در روزهایی که دسترسی فوری به اخبار ممکن نبود.
این میراث هنری با عشق و نگاه بنیان‌گذار آن، احمد مسعود، شکل گرفت و نیم قرن ادامه یافت.
۲۵ اکتبر در سالن دالبی، ستاره‌های محبوب موسیقی پاپ ایران خاطره‌ی شب‌های پرشور و افسانه‌ای آن دوران را دوباره زنده می‌کنند.
در این ضیافت تاریخی، سه صدای ماندگار موسیقی ایران با حضور خود میان تماشاگران، اهمیت و عظمت این شب را دوچندان می‌کنند.
این مراسم با تهیه و اجرای دو ستاره‌ی جاودانه‌ی موسیقی پاپ ایران، شهرام شب‌پره و شهره صولتی برگزار می‌شود.
خوشحالم که در این ضیافت بعد از سال‌ها دوباره در نقش مجری کنار شما خواهم بود.
