In May 2012, while on house arrest at his grandmother’s house in Chicago, where he had been convicted on a string of legal charges, a young Chief Keef recorded his verse for the official remix of “I Don’t Like.” According to producer Na’el Shehade, hired by GOOD Music, Kanye West’s label, to produce the remix, Keef wrote and recorded his verse in just 3 minutes.
