I have cleaned-up & enhanced this impressive autochrome portrait from 1918 and then sprinkled a smidgeon of ai magic to add a little micro-animation to the shot, bringing him even closer to us. The shot was taken on Saturday 3rd March 1918 by the travelling French photographer Paul Castlenau, who was in the Arabian area now known as Jordan. The subject of the image is Fayz Bey el Azm (companion of Prince Faisal). It is original colour (not colourised) but the movement is entirely computer generated.

On y découvre dans le rôle principal, Madeleine Koehler enfant, la nièce des frères Lumière née en 1895 et décédée en 1970. « Enfant star » avant l’époque, Madeleine joue dans de nombreux films Lumière dont « Premiers pas de Bébé ». Pleine de tendresse, cette scène a été colorisée et remastérisée en qualité 4K pour une plongée encore plus immersive dans le quotidien de l’époque. Si bien desde el siglo XIX, se experimentaron diferentes procedimientos para la obtención de fotos a color, como la superposición de placas de Louis Ducos du Hauron en 1869, o la invención del físico Gabriel Lippman en 1891; todos eran demasiado complejos para ser utilizados en la fotografía aficionada. Esto cambió en 1903, cuando los famosos Hermanos Lumière (los inventores del cinematógrafo) patentaron la tecnología de la foto Autocroma; una técnica que retomaba el principio de la síntesis de tricromía lograda esta vez en un sola placa por medio del añadido de un mosaico de micro filtros de tres colores realizado gracias a granos de fécula de papa. Se conseguía gracias a esto, la obtención de tonalidades rojas, verdes y azules, verdadera magia en esa época. Esta increíble foto llegó al #archivobrügmann , fue tomada en Chile hacia 1910. Back in 1909, French Banker Albert Kahn was getting fed up with all those black and white pictures people were taking. He was so mad he hired four photographers to go around the world taking colored photographs. They used Autochrome Lumière to bring color to the white and gray world.
