Tonight’s Canberra Times Training Group session was all about keeping things simple with a relaxed easy run. Easy runs play such an important role in training. They help build aerobic fitness, improve endurance and give the body a chance to absorb the harder sessions without adding unnecessary fatigue. But tonight was about more than just the running. It was great having the chance to chat along the way, learn a little more about everyone and see the group starting to get to know each other too. A really enjoyable night with the run fam ❤️💛💚

Imagine starting a business with a $250k investment—you work tirelessly for 1 to 3 years, hoping to break even, see some profit, or even face the risk of loss. Now, imagine achieving consistent income in a fraction of that time, purely through the power of knowledge. I’m beyond excited to share that one of our incredible students, a highly successful businessman from Canberra, has done just that! After completing our 6-month Profit in Paradise course, he’s now consistently growing his wealth in the market, leveraging the skills and strategies he learned with us. The results have been phenomenal! To this brother, I say—your success is our success. Thank you for trusting Profit in Paradise to guide you on this journey. The best is yet to come! P.S. Your name will be in the Canberra Times soon!

You may have heard about challenges in the electricity system in recent days, resulting in us asking for Canberrans to take care, where possible, with their electricity usage. Today’s update is that conditions are much improved, with the immediate risks to supply alleviated. As I said publicly today, in recent days we have seen an extraordinary set of circumstances that clearly point to the fact that we need to reevaluate how the energy market is operating. It is not fit for purpose, and some of the conduct we have seen from the market participants in the last week or so is unacceptable. Energy Ministers across Australia will need to examine this closely and look at what changes need to be made to the rules. In the meantime, it is always good to be aware of ways to safely reduce electricity consumption in your everyday life, or for times when electricity supply may be at risk. People can assist in reducing demand on the electricity network by: 💡 Turning off unnecessary lighting and electrical appliances. 🔥 If it is safe for you to do so, only turn the heater on for rooms you are using. 🌡️ Set the temperature to around 20 degrees - higher settings use a lot more electricity. 🚪 Close windows, doors and blinds to help keep the heat in. The Canberra Times has some further tips here: https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/7782672/top-ways-canberrans-can-reduce-their-energy-use-today/?cs=14329
💚🤍 A massive weekend for Sydney Striders! 🤍💚 It was fantastic to see the green and white proudly represented across a range of running community events this weekend. We were honoured to be the official pacers for The Canberra Times @canberramarathon. As a club with 45 years of rich history and experience pacing major events (honestly, we’ve been pacing for as long as we can remember!), 👏 19 pacers, all finishing within their allocated times. In true Strider spirit, our pacers guided large groups with enthusiasm, professionalism, and support, helping runners reach their goals every step of the way. We already can’t wait to do it all again next year! A huge congratulations to our members who ran incredible marathon PBs this weekend: ⭐ @kayferguson56 (Canberra) ⭐ @michelleduguid (Canberra) ⭐ Cale Duguid (Canberra) ⭐ @ercan.boduk (Canberra – first marathon! 🙌) ⭐ @mattachmar (Canberra Half Marathon – PB!) ⭐ Christina Kuruvilla (Hobart) ⭐ Larissa Robertson (Hobart) 👉 Did we miss anyone? Let us know below! Shout‑outs as well to those who turned out in force for our STaR (Sunday Training Run), with a large group taking on up to 30km around Iron Cove, Drummoyne. 🎉 And a very special happy 80th birthday to @annieboyd46 , who ran the Canberra Half Marathon to celebrate. What an incredible way to mark the weekend! 💐 We are so proud of our members. Giving back to the running community is what we love, and weekends like this remind us why. 💚 #gostriders
