HIGHER! Yes you can go higher in the ship! I am on the monkey deck here greasing a few threads and nipples! But if you want, you can climb the aft mast where all the antennas of the ship are and you can have an even higher view of the ship and its surroundings! I like being all the way up there as it reminds me of my tall ships times! Here you can enjoy the chocolate river called Humber! Oceanbird is a revolutionary concept for wind-powered cargo vessels that aims to reduce carbon emissions by up to 90 percent compared to conventional ships. Developed by Wallenius Marine, a Swedish shipbuilder, in collaboration with KTH Royal Institute of Technology and SSPA, a maritime technology company, Oceanbird features four giant wingsails that can rotate 360 degrees and tilt down if needed. The wingsails resemble airplane wings and are made of steel and composite materials. They measure 40 meters in height and give the ship a total height above the waterline of 65 meters. The ship also has an auxiliary engine for maneuvering in harbors and emergencies. Oceanbird is designed to carry up to 7,000 cars across the Atlantic Ocean at a speed of 10 knots. The first ship based on the concept is expected to launch in 2026 and will be named Orville Wind.
