I had just finished the Triple Crown of hiking, the Pacific Crest, the Continental Divide, and Appalachian Trails. More people have flown in space than have completed the Triple Crown. The Appalachian Trail actually ended 8 miles before this on Springer Mountain, but I wanted to hike the unofficial 8-mile approach and end under this iconic arch. My wife hiked those last eight miles with me. Her first words as I passed under were, “Come give me a kiss.” Any time. Any where, my love.
