After this I can feel that my duty here is done. My journey now is getting closer to the end and visiting Christ the Redeemer, one of the seven wonders if the world, and the first I’ve ever met, my Brazilian bucket-list concludes in here, or at least for now!
I travelled all the way to see Cristo Redentor 🇧🇷⛰️….. Only for the mist to say “ Not today” 😭 Mis ahorros 🥲. Everyone goes to see Christ the Redeemer in Rio… but most people do it the hard way. A few tips from my experience: • Buy your ticket in advance for a specific time. Otherwise you might stand in the general line for hours. • Enter the platform from the left side so you can be among the first to board. • Sit on the right side of the train for the best views on the way up. • Try to go early in the morning. Around midday it’s almost always crowded. • And maybe don’t go on the first sunny day after several rainy days… everyone has the same idea 😅 (yes, like I did). Good news: if the weather is bad, you can usually reschedule your ticket. Extra tip: the best panoramic view of Rio is actually behind the statue, not in front of it. 🎟 I left the ticket link in my bio, you can also get it with a small discount there. #getyourguide Discount code: SWETILOK5 Have you been here already? Can’t go to Rio and not visit the World Wonder 📍Christ the Redeemer, Corcovado, Brazil 🇧🇷
When you visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, you have to see Christ the Redeemer (Portuguese: Cristo Redentor) - the iconic giant statue of Jesus Christ located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Interesting info on the Christ the Redeemer statue: A giant Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ standing with outstretched arms atop Corcovado Mountain in Tijuca National Park. The statue itself is 30 m (98 ft) tall, with arms stretching 28 m (92 ft) wide, plus an 8 m (26 ft) pedestal. Made of reinforced concrete and covered in soapstone, it’s one of the largest Art Deco statues in the world. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the statue was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. It has become a cultural and religious symbol of both Rio and Brazil and was officially named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.
