The Christmas Carol Play, presented by grade 6 of Amity International School. Year 8s at @winchesterhouseschool unleashed their inner Spielbergs with One Day Film School. First they learned about Film History and Fight Choreography. Then it was time for the 10 Shot Challenge: working in groups, they wrote, acted in, directed & edited short films for screening at the Winchester House Oscars. Congratulations to the winners! Our Nativity Drama Club brought incredible energy and talent to the stage with this weekend’s production of Newsies. From the first rehearsal to the final curtain call, our students demonstrated creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and confidence — gifts that continue to grow when students are given opportunities to learn, lead, and shine. Through the arts, students develop their talents, learn the value of teamwork, and build the confidence to share their voices with others while growing in the supportive community that defines our school. The performing arts give students a powerful opportunity to grow, work together, and discover their gifts. We are incredibly proud of our cast and crew for the dedication and joy they brought to this production, and deeply grateful to Mrs. Gerhardt, Mrs. Chang, Mrs. Bianchi, and Mrs. Natividad and all who helped guide them every step of the way. 💙💛

It’s been amazing to see them developing performance techniques, understanding shot types, working behind the camera and bringing storytelling to life in a whole new way. 🎭✨ Seattle Opera Visits St. John! ✨🎭 We were thrilled to welcome Seattle Opera back to St. John School for the third year in a row! Today, our students experienced a lively and interactive performance of The Pirates of Penzance, specially designed for our K–5 students and Middle School Drama elective. With its blend of music, humor, and theatrical storytelling, this beloved Gilbert and Sullivan classic (first premiered in 1879!) came to life right here on campus. Even more exciting—some of our students had the opportunity to participate in the performance alongside the professionals! From creative costumes and engaging performances to post-show interaction with the cast, this was an unforgettable way to introduce opera to our students. 🎶 Thank you, Seattle Opera, for inspiring a love of the arts through creativity, collaboration, and joy! #StJohnSchool #SeattleOpera #ArtsEducation #StudentExperience #Rippleeffect 🎭🎶

The curtain closed on the Christmas Pageant, but the celebration continued at our Oscar Night Cast & Crew Party! 🎭✨ Our students stepped off the stage and onto the “red carpet” for a night of food, fun, and well-deserved recognition. It was a special time to celebrate the dedication, teamwork, and creativity that went into sharing the story of Christ’s birth with our school community. Every rehearsal and moment behind the scenes helped bring the pageant to life. We are so proud of the students who used their gifts and hard work to tell a story that continues to shine light and hope. ⭐ Bravo to our incredible cast and crew for a job well done! 👏
