These beautiful old growth forests need to be protected, not used as a commodity to be thrown away when no longer of use. How have we as a society become so disconnected with the earth around us to allow this atrocity to continue? Ask those who *actually* know the true worth of our forests what dangers this deforestation will bring to every single one of us. Ask the indigenous communities, ask environmental scientists, ask your national park rangers. This will do irreparable harm to our country. Speak out! Our environment, a precious gift, is our collective responsibility to safeguard; we are all custodians of the Earth's wellbeing.
