If you have trouble finishing your meals without food vanishing from your plate, then this children’s book is for you!
Parents are collectively hiding in the pantry to sneak a snack and inspecting our drinks for bits of backwash, because a beautiful part of parenting is ALWAYS forfeiting our food to little hands and mouths.
Our incredibly talented illustrator @rociorincon_dg created this animation for us, and our boys ask to watch it over and over 😆

In Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein, a little red chicken listens as her father reads bedtime stories—but she just can't help interrupting! As Papa tries to read familiar tales about familiar characters, Chicken excitedly jumps in to predict what will happen next, changing the endings with her imaginative ideas to save the characters.
This charming story encourages young readers to think creatively, participate, and know that sometimes the most delightful stories are the ones we help write ourselves.
Age guide: 3-7 years

🐔 ‘Now You Are A Chicken’ is a read‑aloud that guarantees cackles - truly unhinged in the best possible way.
🐔 Written by @mrandrewmcdonald and illustrated by @benwoodillustrator this interactive picture book turns storytime into a full‑on comedy show. An excitable wizard, a VERY unimpressed chicken, and a spell that may or may not turn readers into chickens… what could possibly go wrong?
🐔With bright, bold illustrations and fourth‑wall‑breaking humour, this one has kids absolutely losing it. Every page brings a new surprise, a new twist, and a fresh moment where their laughter just… explodes. It’s a total crowd‑pleaser for younger readers, and pure joy for classrooms, families and little comedians.
🐔Hilarious, chaotic, silly and SO fun - a guaranteed hit with any group of young readers.
💌 Special thanks to @hardiegrantkids for sending me this review copy.

Rotten Apples has quietly become one of the funniest Biff, Chip & Kipper stories over the years… Do you remember this one!? 😂
I don’t think I’ll ever quite enjoy drawing horses… as majestic as they are, getting those proportions right always feels like a bit of a headache to me!

5 REASONS WHY vibrant, busy illustrations may not always be best for your child:
• They can distract from the words… Too much visual detail pulls attention away from the story.
• Less art = MORE imagination…. Simple illustrations let kids fill in the gaps themselves.
• Cleaner pages help reading… Minimal visuals make it easier to follow text and learn words.
• Busy images can overwhelm… Not all kids process heavy color and detail comfortably.
• Stories outlast styles… Visual trends change but strong storytelling sticks!
