Claustrophobia is an anxiety disorder marked by an intense—often irrational—fear of confined or crowded spaces. For those who experience it, stepping into an elevator, a windowless room, or a dense crowd can instantly trigger the body’s fight-or-flight response. The result is a rush of physical symptoms: a racing heart, shortness of breath, sweating, and a powerful sense of panic or loss of control.
At its core, claustrophobia is usually driven by two connected fears: restriction, or the inability to move freely, and suffocation, the belief that air will run out. While many people may feel mild discomfort in tight spaces, individuals with claustrophobia often go to great lengths to avoid them—sometimes reshaping daily routines or social lives just to feel safe.
That’s why a recent viral video has struck such a nerve.
The clip, shared by Memezar and captioned “My claustrophobia could NEVER,” shows three young men navigating a narrow, transparent underwater tunnel connecting two sections of a pool. Fully submerged and enclosed in glass, the space leaves little room to maneuver. To get through, the men form a chain, pulling and pushing each other by their hands and feet until they reach the other side.
Although the moment ends with laughter and relief, the visuals alone—tight quarters, limited movement, and water overhead—create a tense, anxiety-inducing experience for viewers sensitive to confined spaces.
For some, it’s thrilling.
For others, it’s a visceral reminder of just how powerful claustrophobia can be.

He was brilliant in this movie 👌
Credits: Universal Pictures / Blinding Edge Pictures, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, written by M. Night Shyamalan, starring James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley.
Split follows three teenage girls who are kidnapped by Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder with 23 distinct personalities — and a terrifying 24th known as The Beast. As the girls try to survive captivity, the film dives deep into Kevin’s fractured mind, trauma, and the dangerous power struggle between his identities. Tense, unsettling, and emotionally charged, the story builds toward a chilling confrontation that blurs the line between psychology and horror. 🧠🚪😱

This treatment saved lives but destroyed its reputation. Here's the truth about ECT ⚡
Electroconvulsive Therapy sends controlled electrical currents through the brain to trigger a brief seizure. Sounds intense—but modern ECT is done under general anesthesia. Patients feel nothing.
It's used for severe depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia when other treatments fail. For some, it's the only thing that works.
Yes, short-term memory issues can happen. And yes, old movies made it look like torture. But today's ECT is safe, regulated, and recognized by the APA and WHO as a valid treatment.
Sometimes the most misunderstood treatments are the ones that heal.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by recurring, unwanted thoughts, urges, or images called obsessions, and repetitive behaviors or mental acts known as compulsions. Obsessions often cause significant anxiety or distress, such as fears about contamination, harm, or things not being “just right.” Compulsions are actions a person feels driven to perform—like excessive cleaning, checking, counting, or mental rituals—in an attempt to reduce the anxiety caused by the obsessions.
OCD is not simply about being neat or liking organization; it can be time-consuming and deeply disruptive to daily life, relationships, and work or school functioning. People with OCD usually recognize that their thoughts and behaviors are unreasonable, but still find them difficult to control. The condition can affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and while it can be challenging, effective treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (especially exposure and response prevention) and medication can significantly reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.
Actor Eric Dane, best known for his starring role in the long-running ABC medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," has died at 53.
Dane revealed in 2025 that he'd been battling the incurable degenerative neurological disorder amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.
Dane opened up to ABC's Diane Sawyer in June 2025 about receiving his diagnosis and living with the disease.

Aparichit (2005)
In the film Aparichit (2005), Vikram stars as Ramanujam (Ambi), a lawyer suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder triggered by his frustration with a corrupt and indifferent society. This condition manifests as three personalities: the rule-abiding Ambi, the suave model Remo, and the ruthless vigilante Aparichit. Prakash Raj plays DCP Prabhakar, an upright police officer tasked with investigating a series of gruesome murders committed by the mysterious vigilante. The dynamic between the two actors peaks during a legendary interrogation scene where Vikram rapidly switches between his personalities while Prakash Raj, initially skeptical, watches in disbelief as the psychological complexity of the case is revealed.

ADHD brains thrive in chaos while everyone else is panicking, we’re sitting there like, ‘Finally… a situation that matches the vibe inside my brain.’ For people with ADHD, disorder isn’t unusual, it’s familiar. It’s the one environment where the outside world finally feels in sync with what’s always happening inside our heads. Chaotic? Yes. Comforting? Weirdly, also yes.

Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)
Definition:
Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) is an acquired immune-mediated disorder characterized by isolated thrombocytopenia (platelet count <100 ×10⁹/L) due to autoantibody-mediated platelet destruction and impaired platelet production, in the absence of other causes of thrombocytopenia.
Epidemiology:
Commonest cause of isolated thrombocytopenia in children
Peak age: 2–7 years
Slight male predominance in young children
Often follows a viral infection or immunization
Pathophysiology (What actually goes wrong)
IgG autoantibodies target platelet surface glycoproteins (GPIIb/IIIa, GPIb/IX)
Antibody-coated platelets are destroyed mainly in the spleen
Autoantibodies may also suppress megakaryocyte platelet production in bone marrow.
Triggers:
Viral infections (URTI, EBV, CMV, varicella)
Post-vaccination (e.g. MMR)
Often idiopathic.
Clinical Features:
Bleeding severity correlates poorly with platelet count, but risk increases <20 ×10⁹/L.
Common manifestations:
Petechiae
Purpura
Easy bruising
Epistaxis
Gum bleeding
Menorrhagia (adolescents)
Serious but rare:
Gastrointestinal bleeding
Intracranial hemorrhage (<1%)
Key clinical clue:
👉 Child appears well, no fever, no weight loss, no hepatosplenomegaly, no lymphadenopathy.
Classification:
Acute ITP: <3 months (most children)
Persistent ITP: 3–12 months
Chronic ITP: >12 months (more common in adolescents).
Investigations:
ITP is a diagnosis of exclusion.
Essential:
CBC: isolated thrombocytopenia
Peripheral blood film:
Large platelets (young platelets)
Normal RBCs and WBCs
Not routine:
Bone marrow examination → only if atypical features
Coagulation profile → normal
ANA → only if SLE suspected.
Management (Child-centered, bleeding-based):
Observation only (most cases)
Platelets >20–30 ×10⁹/L
Mild or no bleeding
Child well
First-line treatment (if bleeding or very low platelets)
Corticosteroids
Prednisolone 1–2 mg/kg/day (short course)
IVIG
Rapid platelet rise (e.g. active bleeding, surgery)
Anti-D immunoglobulin (Rh-positive, non-splenectomized)
Emergency (life-threatening bleeding)
IVIG + high-dose steroids
Platelet transfusion (temporary, with IVIG)#drmobagwan #Pediatric
Inspiration for James McAvoy’s character in 𝐒𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐭 (𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟔) was real-life multiple-personality Billy Milligan (February 13, 1955 - December 12, 2014). He was charged with three r*pes and was the first person diagnosed with multiple personality disorder to use an insanity defense by reason of that disorder. Milligan had 24 personalities, consisting of 10 Desirables: Billy Milligan, Arthur, Ragen Vadascovinich, Allen, Tommy, Danny, David, Christene, Christopher, and Adalana; and 13 Undesirables: Phil, Kevin, Walter, April, Samuel, Mark, Steve, Lee, Jason, Bobby, Shawn, Martin, and Timothy; and The Teacher, a fusion of all of the other personalities. 👀
