CLAY CACTUS IN MINI POTS — METHOD Materials Needed Green clay (any shade) Brown/terracotta clay (for pot) or small bottle caps Yellow/pink clay (for flowers) Toothpick or clay tool Glue (only if using bottle caps) Acrylic paint (optional) Varnish (optional for shine) Step-by-Step Method Step 1: Make the Pot You have 2 options for the pot: Option A: Clay Pot Roll a small ball of brown clay Press thumb to make a tiny hollow cup Flatten the bottom so it stands properly Option B: Bottle Cap Pot Take a bottle cap and use it as a ready-made pot (You can paint it first if you want) Step 2: Make the Cactus Shape Choose one cactus style: Tall Cactus: Roll green clay into a thick cylinder Round Cactus: Roll a ball and slightly flatten Prickly Pear: Make 2-3 green oval pads and stack them Column Cactus with Arms: Make one tall cylinder + two small arms Attach arms on the sides Step 3: Add Texture To make it look like a real cactus: Use a toothpick to add: Vertical lines Dots for spines Little cross marks (optional for detail) Kids enjoy this part! Step 4: Add Mini Flowers Make tiny flowers using: Pink / Yellow / Red clay How to make mini flowers: Make 4-5 tiny balls Press them into a flower shape Add a tiny yellow center Place one flower on top of the cactus Step 5: Assemble in Pot If using clay pot, press cactus inside gently. If using bottle cap, add a drop of glue to hold cactus.
