Ginger is one herb that you'll always find in my kitchen. Widely available in grocery stores. ginger is one of the most wonderful anti-inflammatory herbs we have and is one of my go-to's for my patients with period pain, endo pain, joint pain, heavy bleeding, and general inflammation. Not only do I consider it safer than ibuprofen for inflammation-based pain, but several studies have confirmed that taken in doses of up to 2 gm/day, it can relieve pain equally well.
One of my favorite ways to use ginger for inflammation is as a ginger juice. I've shown you how to make this in Instagram videos before. This spin on ginger juice is one of my favorites because it also contains carrots which are rich in healing beta-carotenes, pineapple, rich in anti-inflammatory enzymes, and apples, rich in anti-inflammatory quercetin. It's also especially delicious and refreshing!
For 1 cup all you need is:
🥕 4 carrots
🥕 2 apples
🥕 1 cup pineapple chunks
🥕 1.5-inch long section of ginger root
(ideally all organic!)
Pop the ingredients into the juicer and enjoy! If you don't have access to fresh pineapple you can use frozen which is what I did here.
